I thought the intro doesn’t appear in the actual theory anyways so what does this matter?
The time difference between ray washing up and the helicopter dropping the sat. phone on the Losties seemed to be at least a couple days from the islands viewpoint. but From the freighter’s viewpoint the helicopter took off only a couple of minutes after the doc went for a swim.
Daniel’s payload arrived at the island 31 minutes after Regina told Danial that it had arrived.
Sayid despite getting a significant head start on the helicopter when taking the life raft back to the island still seems to get there long after the helicopter does.
I started thinking about Ray the doctor, while i was eating some chicken Phad Thai earlier and how he appeared on the island as a corpse before he had died on the freighter. But also about his name “Ray”. Ray could be a Ray of hope but obviously he hasn’t really given anyone much hope has he? Then it dawned on me. “Ray of light” now obviously he hasn’t given anyone any light or enlightened anyone either, but think about what happened to Ray’s body post-throat slashing. He was thrown into the water! And what happens to light when it gets thrown into the water? Refraction! Remember when you were a kid and you noticed that your drinking straw looked bent where it met the water? Well that’s what refraction is, so anyways long story short, I think Ray is kind of a hint about the water, and maybe there is some significance of mode of arrival and mode of departure to and from the island.
I mean just look at all of the air vehicles that have been found on the island. the slave ship, the drug runner plane, hot air balloon, flight 815, the freighter helicopter, and then look at the boats on the island, the black rock, Desmond’s sailboat, the other’s sub, the raft, and now the freighter. I just think there must also be some kind of significance there. remember the Losties came to the island by Air but Danielle came to the island by boat and so did desmond, and appearantly Juliet came there by sub. Now they are all given a chance at rescue by the freighter (water transport) people who come to the island by helicopter (air transport)
What does this all mean? I have no clue.

Anyways back to Ray! He was meant to die, that was his path. Just after Keamy slit the doc’s throat he remarked to Lapidus, “I didnt change anything did I?!!!” This would suggest that he knew the doc would wash up on the beach before he even did it!! The freighties are the key to more info. When their ultimate goal is revealed all will become clear. Its a lil shady at the moment. +1

I don’t even know what my comment to Brit was at all. The last time i commented here was before Brit even got here. In all honesty i have no idea who Brit is and i have no clue why anyone would think i would accuse him of being a troll. sorry for whatever misconception occurred though.
I have never actually seen American pie i seriously just googled “latin phrases” and those were the two that seemed to remotely appear to match the situation.
So Karmashark the question is if Big brother is really watching me then who is he, and how do you know?

I love the thought about Ray being a clue to a “ray of light.” I teach 8th grade science, and I teach the behaviors and properties of light waves. It stood out to me in episode 2 of this season (I think) when Daniel commented on the way light is refracted different on the island. I also noticed in the same episode that Charlotte’s hair off the island was more of a strawberry blonde, but on the island she is very much a redhead. If light is refracted differently, then colors would appear slightly off. I can explain more on this later.
That brings into your idea that, since the producers/writers have obviously been playing around with ideas of theoretical physics, that perhaps the electromagnetic energy of the island has not only refracted light, but also time and space. Time deals with all of the evidence you brought up, and space deals with the orchid.
I think we have a good base to build a great theory here.
