to start with if he could travell through time why didnt he travel back as soon as the freighties come and change history from them coming i think that he has lived on the island for a very long time maybe since it was first created it was made as his home along with abaddon and some of the other others maybe even mrs hawking and the monk
maybe they are fallen angels after the war of good and evil and after evil lost they got banished to this island angels flew so maybe they only needed 4 toes because they didnt need the balance and the statue was a tribute to god to try and get back in to heaven and this angerd god so he destroyed it, also maybe thats why dead people on the island are still their because you cant get to heaven from the island also have you noticed that neither alpert abaddon or mrs hawking actully do anything apart from infulence other people around them they give them guidence maybe they cant themselves and are using other people as their pawns in plan to get back to heaven. the smoke monster could even be the devil himself killing those of no good and keeping the useful for his plan. on to sumthing else about alpert how was he able to get off the island before the purge he got off when john was a baby and got back on to see child ben then back off to see teenager lock then back on to go through with the purge he also had means to get clothes and work in the mittlelos lab

+1 fo ran original idea, however as far as angels go, if you want to get biblically technical, angels were created physcially the same as people, so they would have 5 toes, but I do agree that Richard was one of the…if not the first inhabitant of the island.
