The island is protecting them
— quarantined
We know that Michael can’t die on multiple occasions. He tried to kill himself and so did Keamy.
But what if its not just Michael who can’t die off the island? I think this protection extends to not only Michael but also everyone who gets off the island. The only person with proof though is Jack. He was about to kill himself on the bridge late at night when a car just happens to crash right near him. Coincidence? I don’t think so. The island is protecting them.

It would be dreamy if you were an addict don’t you think? Like in Jack’s case, he can get as wasted as he wants and he can’t die. He can’t kill himself. Man that would be fun. But the coffin is proof that someone significant does die off the island. I’ll expand on your theory and assume that whoever is in the coffin must have completed their work. Maybe Jack knows this and really wants to kill himself and that’s why he’s desperate to go back to the island so he can complete his work and finally end his wretched life.
I agree.

Hmm. I noticed something in the final 5 seconds of TNPLH part 1. Either Keamy wants to keep Ben alive OR he knows that Ben can’t die. I think it’s the latter. Note the almost dissapointed little smile Keamy gives before the thwack.
