I found this on wikipedia… pretty big coincidence.

not a coincidence at all!! the writer’s have often said that the names of the characters are not chosen at random and often have symbolic meaning.

i realize that they are based in religion, that’s obvious. What wasnt obvious to me is that the name benjamin means son of my pain. Which relates to our ben in that his birth killed his mother.
