I totally AGREE!! no one has even mentioned it LOL. “Oh Daniel needed to talk to Desmond so he could explain to him how to travel consciously back to 1996 and go meet him in the past. no biggie”

Thats right, it totally went over my head as well. Hearing Daniel talk to Desmond as though he was lost in time would strike some questions for me. Although it seems like we keep missing periods of time as the viewer. E.G. In the episode where we find the chopper and Lipedus and the other ppl that were on the freighter. They don’t show how they get Desmond to come back to the chopper. Its like one minute he’s at the others camp then he just shows up at the chopper with Syid Its like every now and then we (the viewers) lose a few hours. So maybe he explained everything to them but did it in a time period we as the viewer missed. I don’t know

Flipping crap. Somehow the “body” of my question/comment got deleted. Here’s what I said, in a nutshell (for the benefit of BritishChib):

In the episode “The Constant,” Daniel has a lengthy conversation with Desmond over the sat. phone. A group of survivors is standing around observing. Daniel is saying things like, “Meet me in 1996,” and other crazy sounding stuff. If I’m one of the survivors, I’m thinking either this guy is whacko, or we really need to get some answers out of him. But noooooo. Everybody just goes about their business relitively unphased. So what’s the deal???

good point. it always frustrated me that characters knew things and didnt discuss them with the rest, i was sure that they would have been able to figure the mystery out pretty quick if they had. then i started to realise that it was a far more complicated story than i had first thought, but still they seem tolet alot of stuff go without serious questioning.

i just figure that at this point desmond has had enough crazy time related mind things to the point that the losties really don’t care anymore. “oh wow desmond is seeing flashes of the future? um… neat?” “oh wow desmond’s conscious is in the past? lucky for him….” ” huh? you say desmond had to climb the clock tower to stop the moon from falling in three days? neat???”

They also might just think desmond is crazy.

Good point, Kylemii, but I think Hurley is the only one who knew of Desmond’s “condition.” Can somebody confirm or deny this?

I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure that Hurley was the only one who knew other than Charlie. Des is a very secretative person, he wasn’t the type to start discussing strange occurences with those around him. He keeps things to himself as he struggles to understand what is happening. I agree it’s weird how there is no interrogation of Daniel, I suppose the losties have lost it mentally at this point. A person can only take so much.
