In the latest episode we see claire’s mum has come out of her coma.
I think claire wandered off with her dad (christian) to jacob’s cabin, cause christian said jacob can heal her mum -like when he cured juliette’s sister’s cancer.
Then either christain -cause he’s her dad
or jacob- cause he needs claire for some reason
tells claire, her mum will only be healed if she stays on the island.
This might explain why claire was acting so weird when locke saw her. She might just be ecstatically happy that her mums woke up.
Hey that would explain a great deal. I like this theory and hope it pans out in the show.

I can understand what you said about Jacob….but that does not seem realistic as a mom….you leave your child in the jungle and go off with dad because possibly someone may cure your mother out of her coma state….I don’t know about that…..there has to be something more to this (is Claire dead???)……..yes why is her mother suddenly out of the coma.???…we last saw her the resperaters where keeping her alive…..and if you think about it in Lost time it has only been months from the time we saw pregnant Claire visit her mom in the hospital to the time of Jack’s father’s memorial service. Now how someone who was alive on a resperator suddenly is up and about is odd….it takes months sometimes years for people to recover from that…..I believe something else is going on…..I believe it may have to do with the whole difference in time between the island and the real world….can’t back that…but what my gut is going on this one.
kookoo4lost- It would be out of character for claire to leave aaron, but give the choice -her mother, who’s in a coma because of claire or - the child she put up for adoption. she might be convinced to give up aaron, especially if christian or jacob says aaron will raised by kate and jack and will get to live off the island.
You never know with this show. I guess I am thinking like a mom…. as a mom myself…..it is hard to break a bond you already have created with your child…..yes Claire does carry a lot of guilt over what happened to her mom….and she originally wanted to adopt…but we know she loves that child…..making it hard for me to believe she will just leave him like that. I guess I am one of the many who believe that Claire is dead explaining her creepy, oddly peaceful demeanor in the Cabin….again….anything is possible…..we just have to wait and see.
Well, it’s interesting but kookoo has a good point. And remembering that Christian tried to get Claire to kill her mom when she was in a coma. He suggests that she shouldn’t keep her alive for the wrong reasons and there are alternatives other than dealing with the legal ramifications of pulling the plug. But eventually she regains consciousness when Claire is on the island? That’s interesting to me.
This fits perfectly with the storyline on lost. Also remember Ben told Juliet that Jacob would heal her sister who was off the island and as far as we know that did happen. The same could be true for Claire’s mom. +from me!

I agree with kookoo and kat; it seems unlikely Claire would just walk away from her baby! Remember back to episode one. Claire was totally “freaked” (as a mother should be) when Aaron was kidnapped by Danielle. I doubt she would have “willingly” walked away from her baby. Something else is going on here.
Nevertheless, I suppose it’s possible, Ghost Christian, somehow convinced her that for now the baby was safer with the people on the beach. I don’t know!
Well its obvious Claire is “different” now. But I believe its because she is now in on whatever con job is going on. The acknowledging looks between her and Christian, reminded of a movie where the 2 people were conning another person. I believe we’re ALL still being victims in “The Long Con”.
i agree with kookoo and i didn’t think claire looked happy, i thought she looked like she was in some kind of trance
I doubt that Claire would willinglyleave Aaron behind. Maybe Claire was possessed by Jacob? That seems a bit of a stretch but I refuse to believe that Claire is dead.
