It seems there has been some mis-understanding which I would very much like to clear up.
My forum was never set up as competition for this one - they are completely different types of sites so there is no competition, and it was set up a good few weeks before this one went down.
I really like LT, I don’t post much but I do like reading the many interesting theories. There is no reason why anyone should have to choose, and as I have stated on my site, I do not condone member poaching.
When this site shut down, I got a very polite message from a member asking permission to let “LT Refugees” know about my site as a place to re-group. A very good idea IMO, as sites of this nature create a community that get to know eachother, and when that community loses its home, its good to find eachother again. There was a discussion on ways to reach other LT members, to bring more of the community back together. At this point we had no idea that LT would come back on-line.
Now LT has come back on-line, which is great, it seems some loyal members have taken offence at the discussions going on here about my site. That is completely understandable.
The fact is no-one knows how long this site will be back up for or what a new owner would do with it, and all people are trying to do is let you all know that if it does happen again, there is an alternative. And besides, the 2 sites could compliment eachother very well so theres no “either or” situation. I have linked back to this site and have allowed LT members to discuss this site on mine as a matter of courtesy - its only fair afterall.
As the other site admin all I can do is make sure that no trouble spills over onto my forum, and ask members who have signed up over there to help me out with this by not aggressively promoting my site here. Not that that’s what’s happening as such, but it could be seen to be heading that way.
Perhaps an alternative idea is for one of the big posters here to compile an off-site mailing list, to be used if this site goes down again, so that members can find eachother - wether that be on my forum or elsewhere.

If this site goes down again, it won’t be permenant. It’s being sold to a new person, so it’s possible it may go down for a couple of days again while it’s being changed.
Thank you for clarifying. I was simply concerned because a lot of people from your sight (I know, I know, you can’t control what they post) have deemed this sight “dead” and have tried to “steal” members. I think that were good again.
Also, so theres no problems, I use the term “steal” not offencively. Use whatever term you want. I also realize theres no war, nor do I intend to start one. Simply a concerned LT citizen.
Jax, I appreciate your post. Many of my friends are on your site and I wish them well.
I simply thought it inappropriate to advertise your site over and over again on LT and I said so, nicely.
I will not be compiling any off-site mailing list for anyone as I don’t have such information and if I did, it would be private and inappropriate for me to give it to you or anyone else. I assume everyone else feels the same.
I wish you well with your site, Jax. It sounds like you’ll do well and have a lot of fun with the members that have joined. I wish you and them nothing but happiness and fun.

Jax if not for you i would have been truley LOST for almost a whole week. I had faith this site would come back but appretiate what you bring to us. I personally will be checking in on both sites, I

It is dangerous to give out private information, like e-mail addresses to anyone. That is your own personal information, keep it to yourself. Just because someone asks nicely doesn’t mean you have to give it to them.

Jax, you are totally professional and without any blame. Just keep doing what you are doing! I cannot believe the hostility flying around here, and the implication that those of us who cared enough about each other’s opinions and ideas to regroup at your site are unfaithful or disloyal disgusts me. We were the ones hurt by this site’s actions, not the other way around.

So-Lost, I do hope you’re not referring to my comments because I said no such thing. I only asked that the members who were advertising Jax’s site stop doing so on LT as a courtesy to those of us that are staying here. I also wished her and everyone else on her site nothing but the best. I have several friends on that site and would certainly never consider them unfaithful or disloyal, nor anyone else that chose to join.
Everyone had to make their own decision, I understand that. The only hostility I see flying around here is from the members of Jax’s site and that has stopped now.
For goodness sake, So_Lost, you weren’t the only one concerned about other people on this site. I took quite a beating from the trolls myself, without a lot of support.
So, again, I wish only the best on the new site.
Just to confirm - I am not asking for people to send me their emails, just suggesting that a trusted member might want to format some way of staying in touch should it happen again :)

I just want to say that I have never left this site,I felt that when Jeff Croft shut it down so abruptly ,he abandoned us. I did go in search of another place to discuss Lost. So the first thing I thought of was to go to AngeloComet’s Blogspot.
I did not see any reason to believe that Jeff croft, would put the site back up. Also he has made the statement he is still going to try to find someone else to take over the reins.
I will continue to think of this site as my first home,as long as it is here. But like Jax has said there is no reason to not feel free to be a part of both sites. I have persons on both sites now ,that I consider friends. I also go to other sites on a regular basis such as Lostpedia & DarkUFO,and see that as no different.
I hope to be here ,on a special day ,that will be coming up very shortly, and if this site is still here,I have every intention of doing that.
