I know that the writers have ruled out alternate reality theory but i think i have an idea similar but not the same that could work
I think John and Ben are the same person.
The same person who had different lives and have now met each other. This is not much of a theory as i am not sure how to expain the science behind it.
I think the two characters mirror each other, John was a failure who wanted to be a leader like Ben. John and Ben both have a connetion with the island.
As i said not much of a theory i was hoping some of the more scientific minded on here could help me out or at least rule it out for me

Well we have seen both of their Births and they are with different women so that kind of makes me think they can’t be the same person. There are similariteis in their births, both premature and their mothers called Emily but how much that matters I don’t know.
Another possible conection is that these two are th eonly people on the island who can see jacob. im not saying they are the same person, just very similar people
John hasn’t seen Jacob yet only heard him.
