So what if there are a bunch of portals to and fro from the island to various static places in the world. And what if there is a portal off the island that potyentially could send you to the desert or the potentially to artic somewhere.
This may explain Ben in his artic jacket in the desert, beacause you never know which you are going to end up in. Best to dress for the worst case scnario. Now if these portals exist and they are two way, and in the case of the artic to island portal would’nt it be possible for a polar bear to walk through mistakenly to the island, and maybe back again to arrive in the desert.
This could also potentially explain how the plane and hot air baloon got on the island in that there is a portal somewhere in the air that they inadvertanly went through. As well one out in the ocean, that Desmond’s boat and the big boat inland went through to get to the island.

this has been discussed a lot on this site. You might want to try reading a few pages of theories before posting anymore. It might save you from a trip to the trollish section.
cenoura : Hmm you could be right, maybe less random, but more of a path. If you want to get to tunisia, you have to portal to artic, then from there portal to tunisia. Something like that. As you posted would explain ben being in the parka pretty well. Would also explain the polar bears in both locations. As in, Polar bear accidentally goes through the portal back to island and then another accidentally goes through the one to the desert.
