As in best way to hide the island is to have it stick to one point in time. If someone wanted to find the island they wouldn’t be able to because the island only exists in one moment of that timelines history.

So, Once the button was not pressed and everything went wonky(actually returning to normal) all of the sudden the island is back. Two guys in a station somewhere can see it “It’s back!”

This may also be what’s meant by “Move” when Locke says we are going to move the island. Not move to a new location, but move in time.

good point it may turn out to be right… in fact I would be disappointed if the island could actually move, it wouldn’t be much realistic. +1 from me

I don’t see how this works.

Imagine Australia is the Island. And you somehow have the ability to move Australia in time. So you move it 100 years in the past, for example. So in the year 1908 does that mean Australia can’t be found? No. Because it’s there. And if the Island wasn’t actually moved, then 100 years later it would still be there, in the present, and available for access in the exact same spot.
