LOST-Theories.com

If anyone has posted this I do apologise. After watching the two episodes recently it is now obvious that the island has time travel abilities and I believe the Orchid station is designed to maximise these powers.

Firstly the Doc appeared Dead on the beach in episode 10 on the beach but hadn’t actually been killed at the time outside of island time. Now I’m sure the Doc wasn’t able to follow a bearing of 305 or 325, bearing in mind that he was dead it would make it pretty difficult! It showed Keamy in episode 11 killing the Doc and dumping him in the water – a few minutes later the helicopter set off – remember also Sayid set off in the boat earlier on in the day. The dead Doc must have followed a different bearing that took him to the island faster than the helicopter, hence whether you are coming to and coming from the island a person could potentially go the past, present or future – could this be the 3 levels of the orchid station.

What has also occurred to me is that people can exist in 2 places at once (e.g. the 2 bunnies). Could this mean that technically people who leave the island and then come back like Sayid, depending on where they enter the island could actually encounter themselves? Maybe this will be the Gamechanger at the end of the season?

The assunption here is that you know what was happening on thisland time line and what was happening at that time on the freighter. There is no evidence for allowing us to line up both time lines.

My guess is that the morse message has sufferered from some time distortion. The message arrived on the freighter at an earlier time than it was sent.

I think soon we will see the timeline and realise that the only thibg that has time travelled was the morse message. If the satelite phones were working at that time, then the freighter would have said no Doc Ray, Doc Ray dead and gone for a long swim!

Popular Mechanics Interview with Damon and Carlton

Obviously this piece is about the science behind Lost, but I wouldn’t be a good fan if I didn’t ask you to give me some scoop on what’s going to the rest of the season.

CC: It just seems really appropriate that we tell Popular Mechanics that there’s going to be a really juicy kiss coming up in the finale and that there’s going to be a lot more on the Sawyer-Kate-Jack romantic triangle. I mean, that’s the scoop that should really be in Popular Mechanics.

DL: Here’s the scoop for Popular Mechanics: According to the rules of our show, a communication between sat phones is not affected by temporal distortion, but if you were to send a radio broadcast and/or a telegraph message, it would be affected by temporal distortion. That’s the scoop for Popular Mechanics and Popular Mechanics only, and it will make a lot more sense after you’ve seen the first episode back.

    KateandJuliette,

You actually can compare the timelines apples to apples. The morse code came in and then the doctor immediately was killed and then the helicopter immediately took off.

On the island, the doctor washed up a day or two before the helicopter came in.

So there is something physically off about the timeline.

Hehe didnt think about how the doc beat the helicopter there. Maybe he used to be an olympic swimmer.

Appleofmyeye has got what I’m on about - the fact that his BODY has arrived a day or 2 before the helicopter - its the first evidence of physical time travel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (olympic swimmer - LOL!!!!!)

    Yes, Mr. Alpert, I agree.

But did dead Doc Ray, in your opinion, travel to the future or the past? I’ve been thinking about this all day, but still don’t have a satisfactory answer. Thanks for bringing it up! +1

The island could be in the past, present or future with respect to the freighter. Doc dies and is washed up on the island. In travelling to the island he travels into the past, stays in the present or travels to the future. So far so good.

But… when Daniel speaks to the freighter about his body, the doctor is still there, so the freighter is in the past with respect to the island, but the communication appears instantaneous.

Does this suggest that Daniels rocket should have arrived on the island before he asked Regina to send it? +1
