I have been reading these awsome theories for a few months now but after last Thursday’s episode….I have lost sleep. It really makes me think about all the characters, why are they on the island, their so called purpose etc….so I just have some thoughts that have been bothering me and looking to you deep thinkers to make sense of this. Here is what we already know…..

The one thing that I keep coming back to in my mind is that most of the main characters grew up with fathers that are either, powerful, that they hate, or left some sort of psychological effect on them leading to certain actions in the future. For Example:

Jack: the obvious…Father Christian. Never really showed much affection towards Jack as a child….was tough on him….a doctor….a drunk…. committed adultery….drinks himself to death in Australia….Jack goes to morgue and identifies him….coffin on plane….crashes…..no body to be found…..Jack sees visions of him on the island….NOW we officially know this connection to Jacob…but don’t see how based on all the flashbacks we’ve seen on him. I believe he and Claire are dead. So question…..Does Jack find out that Claire is his sister?????

Kate: Father a drunk….an abuser…..not successful…..Kate watched mother hurt by him…..torches the house while he was sleeping to free mother of him….kate becomes a fugative….ends up in Australia on the run.

Hurley: Father left him as a child and made false promises….leads Hurley to his over eating….father returns only after lottery winnings….Hurley also protective of his mother…..feels he is a jinx….ends up in Australia to undo his so called curse.

Sun: Father is super powerful, rich, and ovbiously very involved in some kind of wrongdoing. Apears to have been tough on Sun even as a child. Hires her husband to do his dirty deeds….ends up in Australia to deliver watches to people.

Jin: Father a fisherman…..ashamed of his background….considers his father dead….not even sure if that is his real father.

John; As far as we know Anthony Cooper is his biological father….only to meet up later in life…..a con man…..a user…manipulator…..got John to donate his kidney….threw him out a window…..later to show up on the island (still unsure how) to be killed….but by Sawyer. John goes Australia mission…on a journey to prove even as a cripple he can succeed.

Sawyer: Mother was conned by Cooper (aka Tom Sawyer)….Father killed mother and then himself…..left Sawyer orphaned….grows into a conman himself…criminal……goes to Australia in search of the man who ruined his family.

Aaron: Father, Australian native, leaves the pregnant Claire, wanting nothing to do with mother and child. ….thus leading Claire to a psychic who gets her on a plane to LA for adoption….and well…we know the rest

Walt : Father Michael….. Goes to Australia to claim the son he never got to know….he too is “special”…..taken by the others…Michael kills to Losties and betrays his friends in order to get his son back and ultimately off the island…..once off…..he is riddled with guilt….tells his son what he has done and now son wants nothing to do with him….therefore he goes on an unsuccessful suicide mission but can’t because “the island won’t let him” soooooooooo he returns to the islandn to redeem himself..complete his mission…so he could die (hence i believe he is in the coffin)

Ben: Father cared for son after wife died giving birth to Ben prematurely. Father blames Ben for death of his wife and never let him forget it….brings Ben to island after finding work with the DI….appears to also have a drinking problem…..is bitter….angry…..while Ben just wants out of the situation he is in…..is found by Richard who has a plan where an adult Ben then kills everyone on the island and becomes leader of the Others. Ben thought to be “chosen and special” Now appears to have many parallels with Locke…some believe they may even be related????

Penelope : Widmore father. Rich, powerful and a key player in the whole plot of the show. Does not approve of Penny’s love of her life…Desmond and ultimately drives him away….where he goes on a boat race to prove something to himself and Penny….ultimately crashing on the island….leaving him there to press a button in order to save the world???????? Widmore is in search of this island (does he know Desmond is on it)….and appears to manipulate, scheme, kill, and do whatever it takes to find it (why did Naomi say it was Penny’s boat and have a picture of them)….in any case we know he is ruthless and a rival of Ben’s….and they appear to be playing some kind of game where rules have been broken??????????????????

Shannon; Father killed in car accident. I don’t know how relevent he is but he was introduced to the show as very wealthy and remarried. he appears to have disowned Shannon from any inheritance leaving her on her own to fend for herself and often taking advantage of her stepbrother for money as a result of his death. She drives her brother to Australia due to a relationship she was in was thought to be very abusive….Boone tries to take her home…ended up on the island

Alex: Biological father dead (according to Rousseau) and conceived off the island. Ben….took her and claimed as his own. Believed Ben is her real father up until this season. Daddy Ben appears very protective of her…..does not want her to be with her love Carl…..Alex grows to be very bitter and angry toward Ben…..Ben seems accepting of this. Surprise when we see Ben watch Alex die in cold blood….did he or did he not know this was going to happen???? More to come on this I am sure

We DO NOT know anything about Sayid, Charlie, Bernard, Rose, Desmond’s, Juliette’s father’s only tid bits on some familly members

So basically….what does all this mean. We know that there are major themes to this show primarily dealing with space and time….science vs.faith……but I can’t help believe that all these losties have fathers who have major significance as to how or possibly why they are on the island. I just don’t know how to put this together ….Can anyone shed more light on this????????????????????????????????????
