- Flag this theory:
They tell of talking machines capable of making forecasts and of allowing the viewing of distant persons. They also speak of teleportation, of telepathy, of levitation, of transmutation of the metals, of the effortless erection of megalithic buildings and structures such as the Great Pyramid.

I tried to fit these thoughts in the Apollo thread, but it wouldn’t let me go past “preview.”
Ok, check out this cite — i insist!!!! You’ll be satisfied!!!! (It takes a few minutes to read, I know.)
http://www.atlan.org/articles/checklist/
I know this has been touched on, but I was happily surprised to find this checklist. I really think our losties landed on the lost continent of Atlantis.
If I may point to just a few of many connections:
quote: The only hard evidence given by Plato of a superior technology utilized by the Atlanteans consists in the use of orichalc, the mysterious metal which “flashed like fire” and which they used to clad the walls of their citadel. end quote
We can all make the connection between our show and “the mysterious metal which ‘flashed like fire.’”
quote: We conclude, hence, that Atlantis must be sought first of all in the Indian and the Pacific Oceans, and only secondarily in what we presently call “Atlantic Ocean”, as this name was unduly applied to it by the Greeks. In fact, the name of “Atlantic” applied to the western ocean resulted from the mistaken notion espoused by the ancients that it connected directly with the Pacific Ocean and the East Indies, which they well knew to be the site of Paradise and the East Indies, its true location. Christopher Columbus, Amerigo Vespucci and many other such explorers shared this belief, and firmly thought that they could reach the East Indies and its seas by sailing towards the west long enough. In other words, they aimed to reach the Far East via the Far West, a real possibility, given earth’s sphericity, a fact well known of the best informed explorers. end quote
Atlantis existing in the Atlantic Ocean is debunked. We’ve got it in the Pacific.
Megalithic constructions — check
Sacred geometry — check also must see http://www.unmuseum.org/atlantis.htm
tropical climate — check
holy mountain and volcanoes — check
rich in metals — check
superior technology — check!!! describes Smokie, etc. qutoe: They tell of talking machines capable of making forecasts and of allowing the viewing of distant persons. They also speak of teleportation, of telepathy, of levitation, of transmutation of the metals, of the effortless erection of megalithic buildings and structures such as the Great Pyramid. Such “magical means” bespeak of a superior science and technology. Furthermore, those sacred traditions even suggest the use of genetic engineering to create the domesticated plants and animals, if not a sub-species of men intended for specific purposes like that of “serving the gods”.
Superior metallic alloys such as stainless steel, bronze and brass (“orichalc”) have existed from remotest antiquity. And no one has been able so far to give a satisfactory account of the epoch of their invention or of their place of origin. Where else but in Atlantis, the true site of the Garden of Eden? end quote
O-blood group — check (think about the anomaly with Hanso’s blood work.)
and let not forget Kate’s horse!
quote: We cannot end this section without repeating that, from all the gifts man has inherited from Atlantis, the domesticated horse was certainly one of the noblest of all. Though classically used in combats and disputes of all sorts, the horse also served as a means of transportation, of drafting loads and implements and, above all, for riding, along all the millennia that preceded the epoch-making invention of the automobile. end quote
Ok, so if Lost is about a plane of people fated to crash on the Lost City of Atlantis, then where is the clue in the pilot?
I’m watching the pilot again, BUT the Oceanic logo seen all over the plane wreckage is a rendering of Atlantis as described by Plato. http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/stargate/stargate08.htm
Is that our clue?
I could go on — like the cans of freighter lima beans (Lima Peru comes up a lot re: Atlantis), Arctic and Celtic ties, monks, healing powers, etc. You’ll make the connections immediately.
I dont think that they were on atlantis. I believe they were on Africa. go to my theories, and click on, “how did they get there? what are 4 8 15 16 23 42?”
Check out my picture off!
Although this sounds plausible, I think the producers have something different in mind for us.This would be… not obvious, but not shocking either. …too logical. The producers think different than we do, we think of something existing or something, they think of mindf*ck.
Dorris, your theory puts them near Fiji — that’s in the South Pacific, not Africa. ??
Come on — mysterious metal that “flashed like fire,” transmutation of the metals, the viewing of distant persons — Juliet’s sister, that guy getting a beating, Mickhail’s TV screens — sacred geometry, the Dharma-like city surrounding a temple.
Vegas baby! I mean Atlantis!
