Jack’s word is as good as gold!

— IheartJack

ALright, Has anyone noticed that Jack’s “word” is pretty much always dependable?

I just watched walkabout for the second time. Jack is talking to Rose and Rose says ” don’t worry you don’t have to keep your promise” Jack just laughs. Jack’s promise was that everything would be fine, and Rose’s husband would be fine. Interesting that Bernard is safe and sound on the other side of the island ( much to Jack’s astonishment).

Jack has made many other promises, such as when he said he would save Ben’s life and complete the surgery, even though he pulled that shinagins! He also said that everyone would be safe the night they went to open the hatch, and everyone was.

There is something going on that is weird here! Does Jack create his reality by his words? Maybe.. I guess we will see when all the survivors get off the island like he said

There is something to this. The one obvious exception to this possible rule is the promise he made to Boone, to save him, but in that case, he was foiled by the lie Locke told him. It is interesting that in that very same Boone episode he makes a promise to love Sarah forever- was that also foiled by a lie? I’m going to think about this. +1
