This is from lospedia.com, a little something I basically copied n’ pasted, for those who have an interest in learning more about how retarded it is to try and figure out lost.
Lost is a complex and multifaceted TV show that is so crazy, people spend too much time trying to figure it out because it’s so, so soooo soo sooo goood, they can’t wait a whole week until the next episode airs. It’ s like crack!
According to lostpedia, “The reason the smoke-detector beeped before Christian Shepherd showed up” at the hospital, in the FF, is because, “Christian is the smoke monster.”

I think it’s fair to assume the Yemi, Mr. Eko’s brother, was in fact, really Smokey pulling a fast one over “his brother”.
As to whether, who is not Christian Shepherd, it’s definitely a pretty good theory to speculate that the original Christian Shepherd is not who he is any longer as he died prior to landing on the Island.
Here are all the reasons to speculate why: http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Christian_Shephard/Theories

you shouldn’t quote a theory on lostpedia as if it was a fact.
we know all this already
I dont think that this theory is being put forward as being fact, it is a theory though and opens up a whole myriad of topics
* How can the smoke monster travel around the world but can not cross a sonic fence? It cam cross oceans and navigate buildings.
* If it can adopt human form and pick up items like babies and coconuts, then why not adopt a Rambo figure in battle? Black smoke looks but Rambo knock off the bad guys no probs?
* Why does it sometimes create a zombified mute, like the first appearance of Dr C Shepherd and othertimes create someone who looks and behaves in a normal manner?
* Surely smoke detectors need actual smoke to be activated, there did not appear to be any smoke around.
Good conversation starter! +1
*And it bleeped as if the batteries were empty. If THAT is the smoke alarm I wouldn’t feel safe if there were ever a fire. It bleeped really slow. When there is smoke it’s much louder and faster
The smoke detector wasn’t beeping becaus of smoke, it was beeping because it need a new battery…
for sure, DAMMITkateRUN, but it was the beeping of the smoke detector that got Jack to leave his office and go to the entrance, and……..didn’t the beeping sound a lot like the Button!
Stitch, come on, it’s an invisible fence, smokie has the collar on… I have the same thing for my dogs. So therefore he can go anywhere in the world except inside the sonic fence… oh, and my back yard.
I really liked how the smoke detector went off and Jack just popped a battery out. First: He never checks why the alarm is going off? I have 9 detectors in my house all wired together, if one goes off they all go off and the battery is only backup if the electricity is cut off (in a fire) so removing the battery wouldn’t stop the beeping since clearly they had electricity (lights), I know, I tried it. So am I to believe I have a better system in my house than Jack has in his spinal surgeon practice?
