Did anyone think that Walt’s anger towards Michael for killing Libby and Ana-Lucia was a bit strange. Michael did this to save Walt. And Walt it appears told Locke to kill Naomi. So this looks very much like a double standard, it is not ok for michael to kill but it is ok for Walt to kill?

I think Walt’s anger was justified. Personally, I can’t stand the guy and can’t wait until he’s off the show. good for walt for seeing his true nature. I mean this punk had rather commit suicide than man up. What a piece of crap.
Well, Libby and Ana Lucia were inocents (its argueable Ana was I guess) so that was bad…
Naomi on the other hand is bringing war to the island…
Sure in an “all killing is bad” philosophy its a double standard, but we know the islands down wit da 187,it’s just all about judgement.
i think michael was an idiot for even telling walt what he did, but anyway he was supposed to be out of the show for good, they just needed to add more story i think. anyway that wasnt walt that told loche to kill naomi im sure of it, the monster can project images to others
Walt does not necessarily equal Taller Ghost Walt
Come on chuck, until the show, or the producers, tells us differently, we have to presume Walt is Walt.
Wow that is a good point, but this raises the serious question as to why would Walt appear taller to Locke. We saw in the last episode it is still possible to show Walt exactly the same as when he left the island. It would have surely made sense to show the regular version of Walt to Locke. If Walt has the ability to appear in different places, places where he shouldn’t be .. then maybe taller Walt is not from 2004 but a projection of the real Walt from a few years after that.
Walt was not huge at Grandma’s house… and Locke said he was a taller ghost walt, not walt… we have been told… could be future walt…
or its the consciousness of future walt… or it is the monster as taller ghost walt… or it is Locke’s hallucination caused by Jacob…
or Walt is Annie!
No. Probably not.
Also Walt did not have any problems with Charlie killing Ethan amd what would he make of Sun killing Colleen and even worse Sawyer killing Tom. Michael shooting two people that Walt never even met should not have too much of an impact, it is not as though Michael killed Locke and Jin, which would surely annoy Walt. Amd what is Walt’s assumed name that he is living under while at his grandmother’s house? Why does the grandmother agree to this? What is the cause of Walt screaming in the night? And why does he, if he is against murder, order the killing of Naomi, albeit some time after the rescue????
wow Chuck man are you and I thinking similar thoughts or what. If the smoke monster creates visible projections, then it only makes sense that the projection would be the known one, that is young small Walt. If Yemi was a projection, then why wasn’t it really older ghost Yemi, not the Yemi that was a priest in Nicaragua?
Be careful. You don’t want to think like me. That might make you an evil bastard like me…
Or maybe it is the taller ghost Chuck that is the evil bastard and I am still young and innocent….
I will need to sleep on it.
You sleep on that Chuck and hopefully we will see what is happening with Walt at the same time as bearded Jack is contemplating a bit of bungee jumping without the rope. That would answer a few questions.
I agree Stitch. I think that Walt might well have been angry but to cut Mike out of his life seems odd. Granted it was weird of Mike to share this info with Walt in the first place but I think he would have done so in an attempt to relay to Walt the (entirely justifiable in my book but that’s another story, lol) means he had to go to to rescue his son.
that is right mrssawyer as when Michael had the brief meeting with Walt, Walt was begging Michael to rescue him.
I think if my dad told me he killed two women to get my freedom, I’d feel a bit guilty and responsible , so maybe its those emotions more than just anger that Walt feels for Mike…It is a bit strange because Walt never even met Anna lulu or Libby, so he shouldn’t be taking it so personally.+1
Im not sure if taller ghost Walt was Walt or Jacob or the island…
Still every person the island has shown, Yani, Kate’s horse and Christian has appeared exactly as they were when last seen, all except tall ghost Walt. Why would Jacob/island create a Walt that is taller and older than the Walt they know?
Unlike Yemi, Christian, and the horse, Walt has gone through puberty and grown like a mo-fo since we last saw him. the producers can’t simply ignore this fact. they will have to deal with it in some way.
i agree that the walt that locke saw might not be the real walt. but either way are we sure that lockes walt actually explicitly told him to kill naomi. i think he would have told him to stop jack calling the frieghter, but he didnt anticipate locke going psycho and throwing a knife in her back. i think that locke misunderstood whatever it was that he was told, and that is why he is unable to find jacobs house anymore.
and it was incredibly selfish of micheal to tell walt about ana and libby jusy cos he couldn’t handle the guilt on his own. no wonder the poor boy doesnt wanna see his dad, cos now he has 2 deaths on his conscience. if i was him, i’d be like ” they died cos of me, and it could have been avoided”
yeah, Michael should have gone to therapy instead of dumping his guilt on his kid. side note, can you imagine what the therapist would have thought of this Kevin Johnson guy claiming to be Michael, one of the 815 survivors who are stranded on a tropical island, and that the natives, who aren’t really natives, made him kill two other survivors so he could rescue his son walt. He would have ended up in the looney bin with Hurley.
I think kids hold their parents to higher standards than strangers—and anyways, If his dad said he did it for Walt, then Walt will feel like the blood is on him.
There is still something that does not add up, if Michael is willing to come clean to Walt about all of his actions on the island after the raft abduction. And if he is feeling guilty about the others on the island, why doesn’t he just show himself to the authorities, as this would be proof enough that the discovery of Flight 815 is not all that it appears to be.
I have a feeling that someone else has gotten to Michael and it is this reason why Michael and Walt are living under assumed names. And it is this reason that leads Michael to his suicide attempts. There does seem to a big gap in Michael’s story from him and Walt on the small boat leaving the island until Michael appears in Manhatten.
I also think that something will happen to Walt in regards to future contact with some of the Oceanic 6 and this gives him the desire to want to change the past.
But is it possible to change the past or does this future desire mean that the events will run their course as has already occurred. Does future Walt try to use his special abilities to prevent the contact with the freighter but again only leading to Locke throwing a knofe into Naomi’s back. What happens to Jack that sometime in the future he decides that he has to go back? Is this tied to some knowledge that Walt will have. If future Walt can appear on the island in 2004, then maybe he can also appear on the island 2006 or even 2008.
If he does have certain abilities to appear then maybe he discovers that there is a real threat on the island, possibly to those left behind and even to the rest of the world. If this is the case then Jack may belive Walt and Kate may not believe. But if something terrible is taking place on the island but the only proof is Walt’s ‘visions’ and the island is again impossible to find, then the guilt of the believers must be immense.
Thus the suicide of the mysterious person, Jack’s descent into a black hole, and unfortunately we have no idea of the status of Hurley, Sun and Sayid at this future point in time, could all be explained by this belief. Kate’s attitude can be explained by her lack of belief.
I belive that the end of this season will show us the situation of some of the other Oceanic 6 in the same time period as the Jack flash forward at the end of season 3. I do not think that we will see a great deal of happiness for any of them. Though I think that Hurley will also be as determined by Jack to get back at that point.
So many questions and mysteries remain!
Hurley is my hero
