Ben and Annie’s lovechild….

Sometime in the early 80’s a pregnant Annie was forced to leave the Island to give birth to her’s and Ben’s baby.
Ben was born in the mid 60’s, so if he came to the Island when he was 8-10 years old, that would mean he arrived on the Island in the mid 70’s, making him 15-17 somewhere in the early 80’s. It appears he is older than that during the Purge, SO……….. what i propose is that the Dharma Initiative, already knowing something about the pregnant women and babies dying on the Island, sent Annie away when it was discovered she was pregnant. Ben, not knowing the reason she was sent away (being only a workman and not privy to that type of info) began hating the Dharma people even more, thus fueling his anger and leading to his participation in the Purge.
If this is true, that means sometime in the early 80’s a child was born. that child would be in their early 20’s now. I think that child, Ben and Annie’s baby is someone on flight 815.
(who’s backround would it fit?? early 20’s, probably raised by foster or adoptive parents.)

Yea, I saw a theory like this a while back, but the theory said that Ben’s child was Thomas, Claire’s ex-boyfriend / Aaron’s dad.

I do think that something happening to Annie is what finally flips Ben’s switch. If she left the island, couldn’t Ben find her and the baby relativlely easily? He got the video of Juliettes sister and Widmore beating that guy. Maybe he has baby videos of his kid too?
I think a Dharma experiment with the pregnant Annie will be the answer here. Add that on top of his Dad blaming him for the death of his mother, and you just might have somebody willing to commit mass murder for what he thinks is “right”.
OK, I don’t want to get blasted if “everyone knows this”, but it would make sense if Annie was Widmore’s daughter…thus sparking the whole “war” between Ben and Widmore. Perhaps Widmore did the same thing to Ben/Annie that he did to Desmond/Penny. Then it would make sense that Thomas’s painting would be in Widmore’s office. Claire’s baby would be Ben’s grandchild, Widmore’s great grandchild, and Christian Shepherd’s grandchild….whew!! Aaron’s probably the key to the whole show. Perhaps the people who wanted to adopt Claire’s baby were Widmore’s people.

I 100% agree that something odd went down with Annie and that’s why Ben finally turned on dharma like he did. But maybe I missed something (and with this show that is very easy to do) but do we know for sure that Annie was prego or is that pure speculation? If there’s something that told us that, please give me a reminder cuz I’m missing it.
Also the thing about Thomas being Ben’s kid has been theorized widely but at this point it is still theory. I do think however that Aaron is a big key to this show. He has been a “big deal” even before he was born and I think there is some reason of importance that he is, sigh, one of the oceanic 6
Sorry to confuse! Earlier in the thread someone made a comment that “everyone knows that”, referring to the idea that Claire’s boyfriend was Ben’s son. I don’t get a chance to read everyone’s theories, and it seems like there’s a bit of ridiculing that goes on here if you post something that’s already been mentioned.
But what if she left the island for another reason (like to get away from her stalker boyfriend Ben). Ben then does the purge thing. Annie freaks out because all her friends and family from Dharma have stopped calling, so she assembles a team to find the island and determine what happened to Dharma. Annie falls in love with one of her team and gets pregnant while searching for the island…. they find the island, but the rest of her team get sick and die on the island… Annie has her baby who is taken by others… Annie goes a little nuts and takes on a different persona… thus,

I 100% agree that something odd went down with Annie and that’s why Ben finally turned on dharma like he did. But maybe I missed something (which is pretty easy to do on this show), do we know for sure that Annie was prego or is that pure speculation? I like the idea of her being prego and the child being alive and connected to the bigger picture of Lost but I just don’t see any evidence for it. If there is something that says for sure, please let me know and I’ll be happy to check it out

Ben and Annie were going to have a child. Annie died during child birth and that is why Ben is so obsessed to figure out what is going on with Pregnant women on the island. Even his own people think his pregnancy experiments are pure lunancy. Something drove him to the pregnancy experiments and it was the fact that Annie died on the Island during child birth.
Ben thinks the island is perfect and must be protected at all costs, yet it is the island that killed his true love. How does he reconcile this? He fixes the one problem he thinks the island has.

If she did snap and decide to morph into some other persona, who is to say that she wouldn’t come up with a french personality? Her subconcious could tell her to become any sort of person. Depending on her education and the different types of people she may know in her life or know of… just about anything in the world could have influenced her to become a “french woman”…
Come on now- you’re saying that out of all the odd possibilities on LOST…you would question the plausibility of a personality change?! ;-)

I got lost/confused in this thread of comments — how did I miss learning Annie was pregant and/or had left the island. Maybe you did too? Solution: www.Lostpedia.com. Lospedia advises: “it’s unknown what has happened to Annie since she gave Ben the carved doll for his birthday as a child.”

Um, why hasnt anyone said that d”ANIE”lle ––Annie! Isnt that odd, that Ben long lost love shares alot of the same letters in the name as the person who is Alex’s mom? Maybe Ben called Danielle ANIE for short….?!
Great idea about Rousseau being Annie. However, then one would pose the question on how would Ben know this to believe Alex to be his daughter and to be somewhat fond of Rousseau? Here’s how: Jacob appears to know everything. When he has come to people in the form of the Black Smoke in the past, he has known their deepest darkest secrets. It is plausible that he would know of Rousseau’s true identity and would tell Ben to serve a purpose of his own. Jacob could have also been the one behind killing Rousseau. She being Annie could easily twist Ben’s view of things. He wants to keep his servant, so he kills her. It isn’t then apparent to Ben that it is in fact Jacob who has killed his lover, so Ben automatically tries to get revenge on a third party (again to serve Jacob’s purpose). Jacob has seen what Ben will do if someone was to harm Annie, so he then uses this to his advantage.
I always liked the idea that kate’s mum’s is annie.
First -her name is Diane. di-ANNE
Second-She was diein of cancer in the flashbacks, but somehow in the flashforwards she’s stil alive. And if memory serve, didn’t ben (possibly via Jacob) cure Julliette’s sister of cancer.
Third- I think we see a picture of a woman in ben’s house, that looks similar enough to be the actress who plays Diane.
Fourth- this would be a Major twist for Kate’s story, and since originally Jack was meant to snuff if in the pilot, and Kate become the leader, you would expect her story to be really good.
Fifth- Kate killed wayne (step-dad) because she found out her dad (army guy) wasn’t her real dad, and she assumed wayne was her dad. But the army dad doesn’t confirm this, And if Ben is her real dad, then that could explain how she is capable of murder.

I think comparing the pics that chuck posted that its a possibility that annie is danielle. But, I guess we’ll have to wait to know for sure.
