seeing Ben’s map showing the Temple represented as one of the familiar Dharma logos…I’m now thinking its another Dharma station.

— vegarover

Ever since they brought up the Temple on the show, I assumed it was some ancient religious site, maybe having something to do with the 4 toed statue.

But after watching the last episode and seeing Ben’s map showing the Temple represented as one of the familiar Dharma logos…I’m now thinking its another Dharma station.

I guess this isn’t a ground breaking theory or anything…I just wanted to hear what you folks thought.

I think it was another example of the writers messing with our heads at the end of Series 3. After all if you hear the word Temple, pretty much everyone is going to assume its to do with the Four-toed statue - myself included. Although on the face of it a Temple DHARMA station is actually much more rational. I wonder whats in it though.

Dharma was tapping into the island power so heavily that it is possible. But them again, it is possible that it is Hostile territory, and that it was built and made by them…. Maybe it is why Ben said “only for us”… Or maybe he said that because that’s were they go to travel anywhere in the world, using something Dharma made and that they don’t want to share… Or maybe the temple is in smokie town, where all the black somke monsters live…. or maybe my head is gonna blow unless i get some answer from this show.

I still believe that there is a temple. It may be possible that the Dharma station was built on top of the ruins.

Charolette is a cultural anthropolgist and the producers hinted quite strongly in their last podcast that her degree will become important.

There will be an actual temple somewhere on this Island.

i agree that the temple is a special place that has possible been there alot longer than the others or dharma but also agree that there is gonna be a station there as well. if you were trying to use the power of the island then it goes without question that you would stick a station next to or on top of a crazy building they have come to know as the temple.

Very true, it could be both an actual Dharma station and a ancient temple.

As to why its just for “them”…maybe it reveals a secret that the Others already know, but they don’t want the Losties to catch on to.

That’s very vague, I know…its just that this delay between episodes is killing me!

It think the “only for us” comment definately has to do with the lists Jacob has wanted of the Losties Maybe it has to do with the Elcromagnetism again. As far as Dharma, I agree with other posters that say it could be both. How many civilizations have built over the top of previous civilzations ruins? Too many to count.

I was also going to suggest a Dharma station built over existing ruins, it seems the most plausible answer.
