This actually isnt my theory. Im posting this on behalf of my mom lol who thinks that either Rousseau or Karl will survive being shot (hopefully Rousseau!)
Basically - Both Karl & Rousseau were shot in the chest, but on the RIGHT side and nowhere near the heart. Also, we all know about the Island’s weird healing powers and how lock survived a gunshot to the torso.
Additionally i believe that the promo for last weeks episode claimed that someONE would get killed - not two people.
So, and im sorry if this has already been posted, do you think Karl or Rousseau maybe survived the attack? or Disagree?

i think rosusseau will survive, she was hit nearer to the shoulder than the chest if you freeze when she is shot. karl will die i think you mom is right here lol i think karl will die because i read somewhere that the actor who plays him has work commitments away from lost so i cant see him acting in it for a while who knows he may not die but not be in the show for a while +1
rousseau! cos she said to alex that carl is dead and the writers wouldnt tell us someone is dead when their not. but they never said at any point that rousseau is dead, so maybe there is still hope for her.

Rousseau is alive for the fact that Ben said that she would protect Alex. So, I believe we`ll see Rousseau provide a distraction, as to let Alex get away to the temple. And i also believe that Rousseau will get captured, and tortured and questioned….as to provide us with her flashback.
I like your attention to detail, they did say ONE person would die. I hope Rousseau is alive. +1
I think Danielle is still alive, because there is a rumor there will be flashback for her next season some time. That’s pure speculation though. Good job for helping out your moms by the way.

You would certainly hope that the writers would have the logic not to kill off Rousseau in such feeble fashion. She has been built up over the previous 3 series’ to be this mysterious character who has a past we would all love to know about….I.E Getting to the island….The true origin of Alex…etc.
Karl however may well be dead - but again dont bank on it.
Rousseau is a born survivor, her last 16 years have shown this, it’ll take more than a shoulder wound to put her to the sword, i guarantee it.
Btw, i’m really hoping for a flashback of Danielles - something tells me we’ll get one soon - dead or not!

Looks like it could have hit her right lung and possibly liver. Not a good thing.
There is really no need for Karl to be in any further episodes. He is expendable. Rossuea can play a role in later episodes. I think it would be wise to keep her around.
BTW, Rosseau looks pretty hot in that screencap! lol

But yeah, Karl is pretty lame. Rousseau might still have “work to do”.

I also am hoping for a Rousseau flashback (if she isnt dead), especially since she ties in with ‘the numbers’.
It looks like the shot to Rousseau missed her vital organs, and besides, we know from Naomi how fast someone can be healed on the island (if the island chooses?) I think Danielle will heal enough to go after whoever took Alex. Or at least will make it back to Ben/losties to tell them. I think a major battle is coming with Alex in the middle.
