I could have sworn that it was Alvar Hanso lying in the hospital bed next to Michael. I checked lostpedia for a picture and it looked like it could be him.
I went to Dark ufo and there was a screencap of it already….someone else noticed it too.

I thought that guys looked familiar, but isn’t Alvar Hanso dead? I thought it also looked like Kelvin from Desmond’s flashbacks. Am I way off?
Could someone put up a link to the screencap—I can’t find it. Thanks.
It’s him. No doubt about it.
Two theories (including one of mine) already pointed this out…
cheereyes- here is the link http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/2008/03/hospital-bed-man.html
Sorry Veefre just rewatched the episode today and I did a quick search of the theories to see if it had been brought up…sorry but I will read yours now.
I just looked up Alvar Hanso and am in the process of looking at the episode paused on the guy and Mr. “There’s No Doubt About It” above, I say there’s no way it IS Alvar Hanso. Nor is it Inman. It’s someone else. I Have seen that guy before but I’m not sure it was on Lost.
This was a comment under the screencap on Darks site and I thought it was a good point..
are you guys serious? alvar hanso is supposed to be a billionaire in character of a huge international company. you really think he would be in a random hospital room being shared with people from the ER? yeah dont think so
Does anyone else think Alvar looks a little like Alex Trebec?
SomeArzt, I saw a resemblance to him too!
Although he does also bear a resemblance to Alvar, I would doubt it would be him. Also note wtf’s note from DarkUFO.
I also think he’s one of the background actors they use occasionally for some scenes. I think he was in the one where Ben first came to the island.
There is an easy way to settle this. Just go to lostpedia and look at the episode. The actors by law must be credited for the episodes they appear in. His name would be listed. Here’s the link: http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/MeetKevinJohnson
I did a quick scan and didn’t see him. Check it out if you are that interested.

Dont think it is Hanso. This guy has a different hairline, ears, and a gullet double chin! Haha. Nah, I dont think it is anyone we know…at least not yet. I am not even sure if I believe he is important to the story. Could it be he is just a guy in a hospital bed?
The man in the hospital bed was probably classed as an extra and therefore is not listed in the credits. After all, he didn’t have any lines, did he?
I think he’s Alvar Hanso, for a variety of reasons including the strong resemblance.
So Lost just happened to pick and extra that looks exactly like Hanso; just happened to put him in a scene where we get a good look at his face (for no reason); just happen to make Hanso’s character in the show sick and missing? Tooooo much coincidence for Lost.
Why would a rich guy be in an ER room? The better question is, “Why would a coma patient be in an ER room?!” He is obviously in danger and has been placed there to avoid being found. On Lost, everything happens for a reason.
We have smoke monsters and whispers and weird time travel but people have a problem with THIS. Alvar Hanso is important to the story- Dr. Marvin Candle in the orientation film for station 3 of the DHARMA Initiative says- “On behalf of the DeGroots, Alvar Hanso, and all of us at the DHARMA Initiative, thank you, namaste, and… good luck.” On another note it might NOT be him but why would they even pan over and show him if it was just some random extra?
