I have recently started thinking about the significance of the airport, the plane, the journey and the route of entry and exit from the island. I noticed something. (apologies if this has been mentioned before, I’m sure it has but I couldn’t find anything.)
The number 325 for some reason references one of the exit routes from the island. In addition, as Cheereyes deducted, 325 seems to be the number spirit botherer Miles was covertly communicating to Ben. 325 is also the exact number of souls aboard flight 815.
“There were 324 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 777. “………………………..plus Aaron makes 325.
Coincidence? Does this figure correspond somehow to the exit strategy? Does the island have it’s own rules as to the souls allowed to come and go? Can carefully chosen coordinates comply or fool the island? Do you need to balance your exit depending on your entry vessel/fellow travelers More simply, re the shed conversation, was Miles communicating with Ben that, yes, mission complete the world believes that 325 are gone forever. Do as you will.
What do you think?

good point +1
could be
nice catch +1
Most of the number coincidences on this show is just a script ploy, because you cannot really derive much of the interesting scenario from them.
You certainly are quick to shoot down a lot of theories, aren’t you, RealSayyid?
Anyway, I love this notion. Awesome catch!
Interesting idea, yet it brings into question wether or not Christian’s (Jack’s dad) soul was on the plane. If it was then this is flawed, yet if souls leave directly after death then this holds up and is a very interesting idea.
@CallMeJacob I am quick. That’s a drawback of spending too much time in science and around science :-)
I liked some observation in other posts. Like the one noticing how flashforwards converge to “flashcurrents”.
Five, I like this angle a lot and think you are onto something. It may very well be some kind of exit strategy. Good thoughts! +1
Good spot +1.
I also like this, good observation.
Perhaps there is a constant number of island inhabitants that needs to be maintained, like an equilibrium, and the arrival of Lupidus & the rest of the chopper crew(4) plus Naomi(1) & the birth of Aaron(1) is what allows 6(4+1+1) Losties to leave. Maybe there was a purge before 815 crashed and the crash filled the quota.
Granted Ben & others come and go as they please so I dunno lol.
Great catch fivestades.
What about Vincent? Doesn’t the dog’s soul count too?
I like how you got the 325 passengers by incorporating Aaron.
However, we shouldn’t forget that the great majority of these 325 people died on impact - which sort of makes this ‘magic number’ rule a little too arbitrary for my liking!
Hi guys, thetruekid, good point with Christian, I had forgotten about that soul! I suppose I was thinking that all 325 souls alive or dead within the sphere of influence of the island. As Christian died outside the islands sphere, his soul is presumably elsewhere…………..maybe??
Rise, yeah the balance of inhabitants, well worked out with the chopper, I was trying to work out how the exit route of 325 for Michael changed to 305 with Lapidus. Do we know how many people died in between Michael leaving and Lapidus et al leaving? Was it about 20?
Daddler, you right, theory crushed, I had also forgotten about Vincent!! Okay 325 Human souls aboard.
AC, see above answer to thetruekid
