I don’t buy for one minute that Ben is anything other than utterly ruthless, which begs the question, why not simply have Michael blow up the boat and be done with it?

The opportunity is clearly there yet Ben chooses to sabotage the boat which seems a much less conclusive option.
So why has Ben done this? I reckon a clue is in one of Ben’s classic half-truths:
“Some of the people on the boat are innocent”.
Or to paraphrase, “There are people on the boat whose skills and abilities I can use to my own end”.
Just a thought anyway but I’d be interested in other theories as to why Ben chooses the more difficult option.
I’m hoping the reason is that Walt is a stowaway so that one of my earlier theories can live again! ;)

Have patience, dude.
It takes time for the lima beans to work their magic.
Sorry veefre, I hadn’t read your all encompassing Lima Beans theory before I posted this.
My theory looks so pathetic now. :(
;)
“all encompassing Lima Beans theory”
Now THAT’S FUNNY!
Thanks for giving me the first laugh of the weekend!
Insanity, with some false accusations, and lima bean farts will kill everyone.
Maybe Ben needs the freighter.
