LOST-Theories.com

This theory is based on the following observations:

1) The map that Daniel gave Frank showed that he could not take a direct route to the freighter. He had to follow a bearing in a straight line for 40 km then at this safe distance change direction and head straight to the freighter.

2) The missile (payload) is one that had to fly a straight path. It was sent by Regina and did land exactly at the marker placed by Daniel. Assuming that the distance the payload travels is a constant then the differences in the time would suggest that it has travelled not through the dimension of space but time.

3) If the travelling at the wrong bearing causes a displacement in time, and as other people have posited here time travel only allows you to go backwards in time. Then my theory is that the payload appeared 96 days earlier and its trajectory took it across the flight path of the already lost flight 815. It may have only been at this point for mere seconds but long enough to cause the tail section of the plane to become detached.

4) Coupled with the magnetic pull being exerted from the island, the plane completely broke apart, due to Desmond’s delay in entering the numbers.

5) If Regina has realised this, then this explains her being depressed outside the freighter’s sick bay, reading but not reading. And accounts for her wrapping herself in chains and jumping off the freighter. She is experiencing massive guilt. And yet the only action we have seen her do is launch the payload.

6) Daniel cried when he heard about the crash of Flight 815 but did not know why. Perhaps his future consciousness from three months later briefly took over.

Let me know what your thoughts are.

The payload was small, ..it wouldint even dent the 350 passenger airline. Also it was already confirmed that due to Desmond failing to press the button, a system failure occured which resulted in the electromagnetic build up to overload and open a doorway into the island.

As a result of this, flight 815 entered the electromagnetic zone where they experienced an extreme ammount of turbulence effectively causing the plane to be broken in half. That is why Ben and the others prefer a submarine with a foot of steel between the water and themselves.

Another words..no …Regina and Daniel did not crash the plane.

Stitch, I totally get what you are saying here, and I am really trying to find my way around it, time wise. I like it, but don’t know if I would agree.

In saying that, it is an interesting concept, and is extremely well written and presented. I guess what I like in particular, is that it would explain Dan’s tears. Nice job! +1

I agree w/ dabiatch…I am really trying to find my way around it as well. It reminds me of the time when I was banging this guy from behind and I couldn’t get around his big belly in order to give him a reach around. Horrible! That’s when I swore off men and decided to just stick w/ boys.

Modern airliners have little steel in them, instead it’s aluminum which is not affected by magnetism, so it is very unlikely even a huge magnetic pulse would tear one apart.

On the Lost Answers re-cap show the producers of Lost said that Desmond not pressing the button was what definitivly caused 815’s crash. I’ll take their word for it. As far as the plane, if there was an EMP it would totally power down the plane then they would be in a free fall with no way to even steer it. The pressurization of the cabin and dropping at such high speed could weaken the plane’s hull integrity.
