“N, I’ll always be with you. R.G.” After spending way too much time unsuccessfully combing LOST sites looking for someone with the initials R.G., it occured to me.
Look at the engraving. Read only the capital letters. nrg, nrg………..Energy……….. it is a stretch, but there are strange “energy” type themes relating to the Island. maybe this braclet served as a way of communicating something important in the event that Naomi could no longer communicate it her self. the other idea my weary brain came up with, the bracelet somehow serves as a trigger for Naomi for her “constant” in case she is somehow effected by the time travel “sickness” thingy.
any more RG ideas??

or maybe the Doctor… if he was the captain’s brother… Ray Gault.

Hmm, could be, but I am more in line with N = Naomi and RG = someone we either havent met yet or dont know the full name of (Regina may have a last name that starts with G, or AngeloComet made an excellent point that maybe the freighter captain, whose last name is Gault, may have a first name that starts with R.)
I find it funny, though nobody has really been mentioning it much, that Elsa had a similar bracelet on. Elsa, if you remember, is the girl that was double crossing Sayid in his FF. Lindelof actually posted in an article that the two bracelets are not related, but why would it be such a point that Elsa had one too if they are not related. Maybe it is one of those things the producers put in the show to confuse us and keep us guessing. I hate that they do that. I was originally thinking that maybe Elsa was not her real name (not hard to believe an assasin would have a fake name) and that she is RG but now since Lindelof made that comment…I dont know.

And even if they did need a constant, they wouldn’t know they needed a constant unless they met Daniel in 1996 (or at least before his memory loss)…
I like your idea about the constant I think you might have something there..but why is that blonde girl that sayid kills in the flash forward wearing it? weird
Lindelof explains that they only used Elsa’a bracelet as a reminder for Sayid of Naomi’s (the past/the island).
and yes, i get that not everyone needs a constant. but perhaps the person behind sending Naomi to the island gave her one “in case” she was effected.
