Yes thats what they are, ramblings.

Im bored at work (2am here) and this site has kept me pretty much sane for the last few hours so thought I would get some thoughts out there to see what others think. Not a theory as such, just some topics for discussion. Just letting my frazzled mind do the typing.

I have some nagging nigglings in the back of my mind that I cant quite put my thoughts around. A thin and weak mess of jumbled possibilities….so if it seems I am rambling I apologise…but thats exactly what I am doing lol

Niggling naggle No. 1

~The first thing thats bugging me, as i’m sure it is everyone else (unless ive missed something lol) is why do only a handful of people get off the island? There are a few possibilities I guess. Is it REALLY all to do with the side effects that can be caused when travelling to and from the island? Are the majority of the losties (and the non-losties ie Des and Juliette) at a much greater risk than the ones we have so far seen off-island? Or does something happen….I dunno….perhaps they do one run with the “6” on board the copter and 2 (recently) dead bodies (in the same way they took Naomis body)….after some major face off with Locke and/or Ben and plan to go back for the others, but something goes wrong and they have to leave them stranded? Are the other losties wondering wtf went wrong and why they didnt go back for them?

Naggling niggle No.2

~ What mistake did they make? Hurley tells Jack they made a mistake, and much later in the timeline Jack tells the same to Kate. What was the mistake? Leaving the others behind? Or just leaving? There seems to be a lot of guilt around Jack, not just preventing him from seeing Aaron, but it plagues him I think and when we see him later in life and he is a mess……thats what guilt can do to a man. What the hell is he guilty of? I think maybe Claires death….but thats not a new theory so I dont need to expand on that one.

Niggily Naggily No.3

~ I got the feeling from ep7 that perhaps Widmore and crew are the good guys after all. I cant put my finger on it. Seemed to me that the Capt can be trusted a hell of a lot more than Micheal can, so should we take the note at face value or remember that he is, afterall, working for Ben now for whatever reason and has not only betrayed the losties before, but killed 2 of them. His motivations may be honourable…..but is he a good guy? I dont think so. I dont think Micheal can be trusted atall, and a note saying “dont trust the captain” doesnt mean the captain cant be trusted. And its worth noting we didnt see WHO put the note through the door. It could have been anyone seeing a chance to create a little tension, could be one of the crew for all we know. We havnt seen Widmore actually do anything “evil” have we? And lets not forget, they are after Ben. I think when he gave Des the great man speech in his office, it was to motivate him. It was reverse psycology if you like. He wanted him to go on the boat race and end up where he did…..saving the world and becoming a great man whether he knew it or not. The video Ben showed of Widmore just showed a guy getting beat up. We have no idea why or who he was!

Anyway theres some random thoughts and musings. Hope I didnt waffle too much :)

No. 1 - I think that we will find out the Oceanic 6 (or 6 1/2 if Aaron is not one of the 6) find their own way off the island — they are not rescued. Maybe they find where Locke hid the sub (that may or may not have been blown up) or they find Locke’s secret tunnel or they steal the freighter… whatever. That doesn’t really answer your question, but I am also guessing the 6 leave in the midst of some heated confrontation that includes many life changing decisions — separating mothers (Claire) from children (Aaron), husbands (Jin) from wives, convicts from their rednecks and spinal surgeons from their fertility specialists…. we have six more episodes to find out.

No. 2 — I believe the mistake is leaving the island — whether it was leaving loved ones and friends behind or leaving a special life changing place vulnerable to the evil that is Ben and/or Charles Widmore (to be determined).

No. 3 — Michael can’t be trusted. 100%. It has been a while, but he only cares about one thing — something about his daughter… or was it his son?

I think it will end up that those that stay will realize that they are better off ON the island than off. The three wild cards are: Juliet, Desmond and Claire….And possibly Jin if you believe he did not die, but rather stayed on the island. I have to believe that Juliet and Desmond die, although, Juliet may sacrifice herself and stay with Ben so that Jack can leave. Claire may die, or she may realize that the psychic who told her that she would give her baby to a “couple in LA” was referring to Jack and Kate, particularly when she finds out Jack is her brother. I have to believe Desmond dies, particularly since they gave us as an audience some satisfaction by having him and Penny finally connect on that call.

hangs out in smokey bar and muses some more, sees Lockego coming her way and quickly changes the subject to something more acceptable……like how to tweeze nostril hairs without breaking a sweat

Is it possible? Can that be done? With all my philospophical musings about lost I don’t get time to worry about the more down to earth mysteries like that.

Well I cant speak from experience as mine dont grow that long that I have to tweeze them, but my BF swears by putting a cotton bud in hot water and inserting in nostril before tweezing to open up the pores and make tweezing much more pleasurable. Tweezing and pleasurable…..not 2 words I thought I would ever use in the same sentence.

    Do you think Ben tweezes?

I believe that Sayid is good, and therefore Ben must be good if he is working for him, unless of course Ben told Sayid that he could have Nadie or Shannon back if he worked for him, who knows Ben is a con man!

Hi IheartJack….I definitely think Sayid is a good guy too, and agree he could be working for Ben under duress. Interesting.
