Hello Others:
During the first part of this season, we were shown Naomi being briefed by Abaddon, concerning her mission to the island. Specifically they were discussing the other team members. This lead everyone, me included, to assume that the people on the freighter worked for Abaddon, who, in the future seemed concerned about obtaining the location of the island during the flashforwards of the Oceanic 6.
In last week’s episode, we learned that the Captain worked for Widmore, and that Widmore was in search of the wreckage of 815, and I think it’s fair to assume that Widmore is also working to find the island, based on Desmond’s travel back to 1996. In the past, we see Mr. Widmore purchasing, at auction one of the relics of the Blackrock.
Based on the fact that, presuming the freighter survives, someone will tell Mr. Widmore where the island is, I have come to the conclusion that Naomi was a double agent. She was working for Abaddon, who doesn’t seem to know where the island is, and for Widmore, in the sense that she was running the team his company was financing in searching for the island, and for 815.
So, someone tell me how Mr. Widmore connected 815 to the island. Was it simply geographical coincidence, or did he have some reason to believe the wreckage was faked, and that the survivors were on the island he had been searching for for years.
If he has been searching for the island all this time, how will he respond to Des having been there?

I think Abaddon, Naomi, and the freighter crew are all working for Widmore.
Penny probably unwittingly led her father to the discovery of the island’s location in her search for Desmond.
So Widmore and Abaddon knew about the island’s location when they assembled the crew.
Abaddon asks Hurely, “Are they still alive” (not about the island). I assume that “they” are Ben and the Others and/or Locke and Company.
Also, Naomi told the Losties that they were given coordinates on were to look (season 3).
I thought the “they” he was asking about were the other passengers of 815. If Abaddon and the Captain work for Widmore, then he would have known the truth about the non Oceanic 6 survivors of 815.
I agree with Sham.
Well I can see where you guys are coming from, It just seems to me that if the freighter is how the 6 get off the island, then Widmore will know more than the lie Jack tells in court.
It’s possible that in a future episode that Miles makes good on his promise to lie and say that Ben is dead along with everyone else.
We don’t know yet if the freighter is how the 6 get off the island, although that does seem the logical way at this point.
Yeah I have to agree that the freighter is the hot ticket right now, and I can’t see Penny not doing everything within her power to get Des off the island and back to her.
I always thought the Captain and Tennille were an enigma too.
Sham they were an enigma, but be careful you’re showing your age by getting that reference.
I’m still spry.
and pretty fly for a white guy.
;)
Locko: I think you make valid points. +1
We are being led to believe by both Ben and the Captain that Widmore has sent “the freighter”, but it is clear, that Naomi was recruited by Abaddon. There is no evidence Abaddon works for Widmore.
I am reminded of the episode “The Cobra” when we see Abaddon, and not enough is known about him or his motives at present. I absolutely do not see him as being on the same side as Widmore, which would verify your thoughts about Naomi.
Thanks dab
Hey Dab, you made some good points! I can’t see Abaddon on the same side as Widmore either. I never put that together, but it earned lockeko a +1.
Locko and Annie, This was a post which deserved far more attention than it received.
It also deserves to be higher rated IMO.
I agree with you that Ben was the faker of the wreckage. Cant wait to see the showdown between Des and Widmore.
