Thats a very good point. Not sure what to make of it though

I think the emergence of the Oceanic 6 will cause a change in the cover story currently existing for 815. It could potentially end in a huge scandal for whomever staged the coverup.

Im interested to see how it gets explained also. They didn’t recover the bodies from the plane so it does leave a bit of leeway for a few survivors to have been ‘thrown clear’ or something?

I don’t know what to make of it either ;) I was watching S3 from catch 22 and up and it hit me… 2 people said (the captain and Naomi) that ALL bodies were found…Then now we have the O6 + 2 that died

Hume, that is something that the producers will have to address.

I am with wtf ,on her point of the recovery of bodies. Since I am pretty sure that even if they could ,they would not be able to say for sure ,that some may not have been able to survive. Especially given the fact that the plane, they are saying is 815 is pretty much still intact !

This was brought up very recently by someone on here, but I’m not sure who. I think the most interesting thing to be gleaned from this is that it appears that by the time of Kate’s trial the public has a satisfying explanation as to how all of the bodies were found and yet 6 people were actually alive on the island (eight really). So it seems to me that the staged crash will have been revealed by the time of the trial. I find it hard to stomach that the world population would accept that supernatural time shifting alternate universes were in play. +1

Also in response to wtf’s comment…I don’t think there is any leeway with the counting of bodies because there are more than a few that would need to be missing. Remember how in Kate’s trial Jack testified that Kate gave CPR to people after the crash. It seems that the story is that at least a few corpses washed ashore.

+1 Hume. Very good question. Since the “staged” crash has been televised before the Oceanic 6 are rescued, I’m assuming the answer to that will be part of their cover story. Like how Jack explained it on the stand, they crashed in the ocean and 8 of them got out of the plane and swam to an island, then 2 died of their injuries, leaving the 6.

    I agree with Lockeko,

    UNLESS I’M missing something…….

It seems to me, once the Oceanic 6 are rescued, then the “staged” crash has to be completely discredited. During Kate’s trial, Jack specifically stated that flight 815 crashed in the South Pacific. The “staged” crash was off the Coast of Bali in the Indian Ocean. (Regardless of where the plane actually did crash, Jack said the South Pacific!) How can this discrepancy ever be reconciled? Nevertheless, the writers seem to be leading us to ask the question. Why?

Unless the captain of the boat is lying, Ben is responsible for the bodies, which in turn, means the plane. Hopefully, if they do a flashback of Ben, it’ll be about the staged plane and bodies.

The only people Kate was giving CPR to after the crash was Sawyer and maybe Jack.

There IS NO wreckage of a 777 with or without 324 bodies in the Sunda trench. There is only a report of finding the crash site and an underwater video showing a portion of a plane and at least one body, (that of the pilot) , that has been released to the news media. If the crash site is a couple of kilometers down in the Sunda trench, almost no one has the capability of verifying the truth or fiction of news reports for themselves. (Because, how many of us possess submarines and ROV cameras??)

If the search organization, (private? government ?) tells the world they’ve found the wreckage and produces a video as “proof” why wouldn’t the world, including Naomi and the captain of the freighter, believe them??? Say / think what you will about government organizations, most of us would trust what the National Transportation Safety Board, (of the USA) says about an airline crash.

The question remains how far apread and who is a part of the conspiracy to spread a phony story about locating the crash site.

Good post and comments and great point about the locations conundrum aliceslookingglass. Lots of things aren’t adding up…

The freighter captain claims to have the flight data recorder (black box) from the staged crash. Um… How did they retrieve it? With an ROV? Doubtful.

Did they travel all the way from the coast of Bali to the South Pacific with it? Would it prove that the crash was staged? If so and Ben is involved, he wouldn’t like that.
