this is my opinion
no, i personally believe that they only let certain people off the isand, the last episode made me think of this so hear me out.
i think maybe the oceanic 6 are the people who are actually let off the island but are told to never come back. this or one explains why at the end of season 3 jack is to distressed about wanting to go back. initially he would try to get back but maybe they had some sort of deal like if you go and try to come back u will be killed… or something like that.
maybe ben or whoever decides will only let the 6 people go and noone else. i believe jin made sure sun was one of the because obviously she is going to die if she stays.
also i believe that claire couldnt get a place on ‘get off the island free card lol’ so she gave arron to kate to take care of so he could lead a better life. she was simply doing whats best for her child.
i dont believe the people who arnt in the real world are dead. i just think they wasnt allowed to leave the island.
mclark, you make some very good points. I don’t know if it’s Ben who decides who stays and who goes though. I think we’ll have to wait to find out.
