you all need to grow up
I am sick of logging on here to find a new user has been flagged trollish or worse than that ignored altogether. It is rude and unnecessary, and i think there should be a moderator on here to ban the rude people who put others down. I realise that i may seem offensive here but i am not naming names just pointing out what i see. My advice to newbies is to ignore those who put you down and to carry on posting what you think. I am aware i will be flagged for saying this but i do not care as i have another username under which i am very respected. I will not reveal myself as i am acting as a spokesperson only for those who are new to the site.

I didn’t find it offensive in the least and you make some good points.
Some people can be pretty harsh in their criticism, but I think sometimes it is just good-natured ribbing that is taken the wrong way. Maybe some people need to grow up and get a sense of humor or grow thicker skin.
What I don’t agree with is the “ignored” comment. No one here should feel compelled to comment on a theory if they don’t want to. The quality and merit of the theory will dictate that.
SO SAY WE ALL!!! (Sorry for dropping the Battlestar verbage here:) I agree, people may be just a bit too harsh on the site from time to time, especially for (us) newbies who are just getting their “lost” legs
We should all remember that we are here for a shared interest and that it should be fun for everyone. We don’t all think the same but we all love Lost.

I agree snakeskinboots (used to own a pair). There have been way too many posts about trolls, site etiquette, and unrelated topics lately. Stick with LOST the rest will sort itself out.
Good sentiments thessado. But I don’t see why you needed another username just to say that, it wasn’t inflammatory or anything. I and others have spoken up a lot stronger than that, with our own original usernames, so you can too. It would lead more credence to what you say. But still, I do understand, not faulting you.
That said, things have calmed down and hopefully will remain that way. So like the guy said, let’s all concentrate on Lost ! But if things get hairy again, it’s good to know we have another who will speak up !

thesaddo, I agree with ozzig. But I would have alot more respect for you if you didn’t use a fake name.
I also agree with Sham about your comment on ignoring people. Members are not obligated to comment on every post.
I know I am hated by many for fanning the flames. I am sorry if anyone is offended by my aggression towards what I perceived as trolls. I do not attack random people with silly theories — that would take up most of my days.
Anyway, I will now spend some time with my family and my God seeking forgiveness for what I have done.

Seriously — I generally agree with the sentiment — if someone has taken the time to construct a serious theory and explained it well, I would never call that person a troll — even if the theory was flawed. But if a user (new or old) posts a series of one or two line “theories” that are not really theories, or are without support, those people should be called out on it.
You can’t attack people for criticizing newbs and then attack the same people for ignoring them… Can you also attack people for giving a theory a -1 rating when their opinion is that the theory is poorly constructed or fatally flawed? Must they also explain why they gave a -1? But there is a very fine line between constructive criticism and an attack… catch 22.

it never fails that a group of people cannot get together without arguing or getting upset… its like a lifeboat and everyone is trying to throw the other overboard.. I think it is dumb and agree with this poster! Let’s just focus on Lost!!! Thats what this site is for!
Yep… as an earlier preacher — I mean poster — told us (http://www.lost-theories.com/theories/2008/mar/11/lost-people-lost-website/) when we get too aggressive and hostile, we should look to Lost for a lesson about how to behave….
The message is clear… I don’t know how I missed it!
These fight threads are achieving nothing.No offense to the creators of these posts, but they really are, as Annie has pointed out, a platform for trolls and antagonists to continue with the crap. ChuckG, i think you are on the defensive for good reason but I can’t see how carrying this thing on is improving your day. Let it go.
I too vote for kindness. It’s time better spent to find one you like and build that one up instead of knocking others down.
