I don’t know if anyones brought this up before, but its an idea I got after watching ‘The Begining of the End’ again. What if Alex really is Ben’s daughter? Or at least Ben has a very good reason to think she is?
The reason I brought this up was firstly because in TBOTE he asks Rousseau to take Alex and get as far away she can, and adds ‘I will not have my daughter -‘ before Rousseau hits him and reminds him she is not his daughter. Ben knows that Alex is Rousseaus daughter, as he stole her from her, but it seems a bit weird that he’d call Alex ‘his daughter’ in front of Rousseau when he would know that she knows she isn’t his daugther.
Unless…
This season we’ve seen that Ben has a ‘secret life’ off the island and he is apparantley very wealthy. We also see him operating in Europe with a post island Sayid.
Maybe Rousseau knew Ben from off the island, and they were seeing each other at one time? Then perhaps Rousseau broke it off and took up with the man she called Robert and she became pregnant around this time and Ben was convinced the child was his?
So Ben being Ben takes drastic action, Rousseau mentioned she was on a science expedition, what if the company that contracted her was in fact Mittelos Bioscience? Unknown to her this was one of Bens subsidiaries and her mission was just part of Bens plan to get his hands on Alex?
What do you all think?

That’s Not too bad :)
We all know that the producers love to constantly show us how interconnected people on the show are previous to arriving on the island…even if they themselves aren’t aware of the connections.
Georgie, I’ve seen a lot of theories about Alex really being Ben’s daughter. This is the only one I’ve read that comes close to making the case! Congrats, I’m still not sure it’s true, but you’ve got me on the fence now. ;)

I don’t see a case here at all. Him calling her his daughter in front of Rousseau isn’t really proof of anything. He’s been calling her his daughter for sixteen years, I’m sure he’s quite used to it, and since he basically raised her, he has begun to think of her as his daughter, even if she’s not biologically his.
If Ben was so powerful and rich off the island, one would think he wouldn’t have to go to the lengths of setting up a fake scientific expedition just to get his daughter. He could easily just kidnap her and take her to the island… it’s not like anyone (short of Widmore anyway lol) could find them.
The better one ive read about Alex…I would love to get more on this subject. I never payed much attention to that whole relationship between Ben and Alex, interesting. Cant wait to find out.
Personally, I don’t think Ben is Alexs’ biological father. I thought it was interesting that Kate used the same phrasing about Aaron. “My son” when she spoke to Jack. I mean surely Jack knows Aaron isn’t her real son, so I think it implies that for all intents and purposes Ben and Kate have taken on the role of parent, is all. Good theory though and wouldn’t put it past the writers.
Interesting, there may be nothing to it as kissmyapocalypse said…
but it made me think a bit, In 406, just before Harper confront Juliette about her relationship with Goodwin, Harper asks “What do you think of Ben?” i cant remember exactly what Juliettes reply was but Harper responds with “Of course you look just like her”
It only occurs to me now that in her younger days, Rousseau could have looked somewhat similar to Juliette. Tall, slender, high check bones, sharp jaw, long wavy hair. main inconsistencies obviously being hair and eye colour…
Just thought I’d put it out there, as I was reading a post yesterday questioning why the others would leave her alive but refuse to take her in? Nothing ever is quite what it seems. She does stand rather calmy beside her daughters kidnapper…well calmy untill she hits him. maybe she was exiled? as punishment? guess we’ll just have to wait for her flashback…0_o
Nice theory +1.
I am really hoping we get a Rosseau flashback in an upcoming episode. That will solve a lot of these questions.
wtfsignmeup, when did Kate call aron “my son” in front of Jack? I thought she said “You should come over and see HIM” when she talked to him in the parking garage. I could be wrong, but I don’t remember her saying “my son” to Jack.
I think we are supposed to get a Danielle flashback either this season or next.
