Here we go hang on tight. Last weeks ep “the Constant” proves (IMO) that going to and coming from the island involves passing through a vortex. Now, there is not enough evidence to say the vortex is a wormhole, it only means vortex.
at the beginning of the ep, frank showed a hand-drawn “cheat sheet” of how to get back to boat. the map shows some twists then a blatantly straight line followed by a hard 90 degree turn right. he was told to hold his bearing no matter what. when he held his bearing (though not exactly cuz it gave des “side effect”) he started into a spiral consistent with a vortex. the hard straight line followed by the hard right on dan’s map indicates the last moment before leaving the vortex when they were sort of with the flow of it. the hard right represented how to exit the vortex once you reach the edge of it. and sure enough, frank said, “hang on! two minutes,” he then turned a 90 degree hard right and immediately arrived at the boat.
while on the boat, he told one of the crewmen that he did as farraday said and “followed the same VECTOR out” or something like that. point is, VECTOR was the key word. in geometry, vectors connect points A and B and represent both direction and magnitude. vectors are often drawn on 3D plots in mathematics or geometry having to do with spirals.
there is a spiral vector clearly drawn on farraday’s blackboard in 1996.
i don’t know what is going on with the island itself, but i’m now a believer in the vile vortex theory of how people GET ON the island. it’s on this lost-theories.com but i couldn’t find it. if you don’t know the vile vortices theory then check it out. but i think there are at LEAST two places that have a vile vortex that leads to the island. one is in the pacific way off the coast of fiji. the other is 40 miles off the coast of madagascar, which is how the drug smugglers got there.
p.s. i put the current episode as 3.22 which has nothing to do with this. it just said it was a required fireld so i had to submit something but “the constant” wasn’t listed…?
so what do you guys think?

i think this is an interesting theory. one point i have is that how could Faraday know about the ‘vortex’ onto the island in 1996. though i didn’t notice anything on the blackboard when i watched the episode, it could be something he was researching in general ather than specificaly to the island, still i good theory though
the riddick,
i understand your question. the spiral vector on the black board in 1996 had nothing to do with the island. it was there for two reasons:
a) to show the audience farraday worked on/had knowledge of the physics of time and space anomolies such as wormholes.
b) a hint from the producers that a vortex is what the helicopter traveled through.
Good theory and probably correct. I don’t think the spiral on the blackboard was intended to relate to the helicopter specifically but I do think you’re correct that he was probably speculating on the physics.
Good theory. +1
Well, I think it is quite obvious, and very well known to the scientific community, that the necessity for “constants” while time traveling prove conclusively the existence of vortices.
There really isn’t anything left to be said.
