BEN: Whoever moves the island can never come back.
Hello everyone, I’m new here. I’ve posted some theories on Darkufo before. Here is my first here.
I wanted to start a theory about Ben’s sentence “Whoever moves the island can never come back.”
I think that imply that the island has been moved before. By who? When?
Ben puts Dr Halliwax’s Parka on and says: “I’m going somewhere cold.”
Assuming this Parka belongs to Dr Halliwax; that makes me think Dr Halliwax knows about the underground cold cave with the frozen wheel. Why would he need a Parka otherwise in that station?
So I’m thinking that the island was moved before by Dr Halliwax himself, and maybe he used “the vault” to do test and send bunnies in time and space, before actually using the wheel to send himself. Maybe he left and never came back after that?
What if Dr Halliwax was actually Jacob himself? He could have told Ben how to move the island.
There is something else I want to point out. Obviously Wildmore knows about the Orchid as well (secondary protocol). He seems he know what Ben would end up doing as a last resort as mentioned in eps 11 : “BEN: Because doing it is both dangerous and unpredictable. It’s a measure of last resort.”
Maybe Dr Halliwax is somehow connected to this all thing between Ben and Wildmore.
Maybe Dr Halliwax got captured by Wildmore.
Maybe he’s a Scientist stuck in time and space on the island as Jacob and is able to communicate through a vessel in our case Ben, and now Locke.
Anyway I wanted to start talking about those assumptions that came to my mind.
I hope it’s not too confusing.
Feel free to comment, or debate about those idea I’m putting on the table here.

Someone had mentioned his change of names names “Candle” –- Hallo WAX and and Hallo WICK. You may be on to something there with him. There was only one parka (Dharka) in the Orchid right? Maybe he did go somewhere and it does seem like both Widmore and Ben were aware of what the Orchid Station did. +1 Good post!
Well, if Halliwax moved the island wouldn’t he have taken his jacket with him?
I for one think it was WIdmore who last moved the island…
2 Words on your theory:
F#$@% LAME!!!!
Excellent post, over all, buddy.
My one thing…the whole “Whoever moves the island can never come back” bit…. We only have that on Ben’s authority. I trust Dick Cheney more than I trust Ben, and I think Dick Cheney may very well be a spawn of Satan.
Believing Ben, even when he said “I lied” is foolish.
Widmore is THE candidate for the last to move the wheel. The jacket is an interesting ? though. Maybe Halliwax is still around.
I definitely think that Widmore was the last to move the island - (to Ben) “Everything you have you took from me.”
I think Halliwax, though, is an ancillary character at best. He probably had the parka because he may have started off teleporting polar bears and bunnies in the wheel room and just wanted to stay warm. An interesting thing about the vault - the (wooden?) ladder leading down was intact when Ben came in, meaning it was built and had been unused for long enough to become so brittle that Ben’s skinny ass broke it. So I think it has been quite some time since the vault has been used (though time is a relative term around those parts…)
Widmore is way too familiar with the station and its surroundings to not have been involved in DI somehow.
And aleislostintheories3, grow up and think of an intelligent way to challenge someone’s theory.
Halliwax almost seems like a Tom Bombadil character. Part of the narrative but not of the world.
Maybe we’ll get to know more about him, or maybe not…
But how doest that explain why the parka is still there?
I think that Halliwax was just doing research down in the wheel room and never teleported himself. He’d wear his parka down there because he’d be studying it for hours on end, then come back up on the ladders without using the teleportation device.
Thank you for all your post :-).
To give my opinion about the Parka. Maybe it was during the “incident” that happen back then. Maybe he rushed down there and didn’t have time to put it one. Many reason could explain the Parka. I like the idea of Wildmore begin the last one using it actually.
Anyway what about the idea of Halliwax actually being Jacob :-)? Is that thinking too much out of the box?
