Could he have chosen Miles on Ben’s orders?
— chewbacca_93
In the flashforward showing Hurley in the mental hospital near the beginning of Season 4, a strange black man asks him about “the others”. This man continues to appear throughout the season, questioning many of the Oceanic 6 about the whereabouts of “the rest of them” and of the island. We also this same man in a flashback with Naomi, before the 4-man crew is sent to the island. While it appears he is working for Witmore, he may actually be working for Ben.
There are several pieces of evidence to support this theory. First, it appears that Miles could be an other. I believe that the producers have said that Miles is not there for the same reasons as the other 3 people. Also, in the 3.2 million dollars conversation with Ben (see the top-rated theory for more information), it seems that he could be an other. Recall the conversation between the black man and Naomi. I believe that she asked him why this team was chosen. The black man could easily have been in charge of the selection of the team. This would mean that he was working for Witmore. However, he has chosen a “strange team”. Could he have chosen Miles on Ben’s orders? Maybe in the future, he asks the Oceanic 6 about the location of the others to find where the island has been moved to. While I doubt he’ll have a major role, (he is going to have a main role in the new show, Fringe), he may play an important part in the future. Please expand if you have any evidence in favor of or against the double agent.

Are you kidding me? Is there a way to delete theories? I did not mean to post all these.
