I know this is probably total bs. Well, actually i know it is but just an idea i have been going on is that the island is purgatory for these people, a medium between life and death that they continue on their judgement. The others are not allowed to pass yet bc they are not right. Idk, damn’t. haha. Got to go to work.

The Oceanic 6 are the only ones remaining in purgatory, which is basically the island, and the are able to escape through time and space. It is where they are continued to be judged or whatever happens in purgatory.
It is also more likely for the Oceanic 6 to be “dead” because of Arronn, a baby surviving in the wild and as well Jack with appendicitis.
The whole story could be plainly about death and points in our life that death meets us and tries to mold us for the rest of our life, so to say. Abaddon is the most mysterious character to me in the fact that Hurley mentioned that ” we’re all dead” after his little visit with abaddon. The word or name ” Abaddon ” is also a bibical term for ‘ gaurdian of the abyss ‘, all too clearly with all of the other evidence the Lost writers throw in our face. The explanation that there is a boat off the shore of the island would take me another ten minutes, but I think it is just some lap of time and space that people are looking for.

Purgatory is not only the oldest idea about Lost, it’s also one of the first that has been officially classified as not true.
This is the same theory that Lockeko has been pushing since day one and Angelo is right that it has been completely debunked…maybe you and Lockeko can get together and share ideas.
