I dont understand all the bad vibes people, whatever happened to love not shove? what is the point of being part of a community…….and i do consider myself part of the lost community………if you are not willing to talk?
I for one like to get to know people and i feel a good way of doing so is with the use of humour, i find the more i know other people on this site the more enjoyment i get out of reading the more stictly “theory posts” I am sorry stepitupjack that you seem to have taken offence to my previous post for being more of a “message board” but i cant see anything wrong with wanting to have a bit of fun and a laugh when nothing else of particular interest is going on.Obviously you couldnt of thought it was that bad or you wouldnt of read it would you? Would you? Anyway this is why i have written this post today, i would like anybody reading to let me know if i am in the minority. If you dont think there is room on this great site for a bit of humour and light hearted banter please air your views.I think it could be interesting, if i am in the minority i will begrudginly cease all future posts and comments for the greater good of the community. I do however hope i have a bit of backup, i look forward to hearing your views…………..

I thought you were the one complaining about discussing movies and such when this is a theory board? I think there should be room on the site for humour and constructive criticism. I just don’t like it when you constantly pick on other peoples theories and posts.

I have jus realised half of what i wrote is not displayed,does not matter tho this post was only meant to draw out a certain type who visit this site obviously it hasnt suceeded. Whoa Whoa wtf signmeup i have never complained about discussing movies, i have about linking them to lost yes, but i really dont know where you are coming from with the constant picking remark i dont do that,i dont try to anyway and if i have the slightest feeling that i may have offended anyone i apologise straight away at that time,read my posts and comments for the proof,maybe you should try it yourself you know, its not nice to call someone a bully………. Im a nice guy ……………at least i thought i was…… I havent got round to it yet retroactiveman but im convinced anyway.
Figgy, I personally like to read and see a good brand of humour, some good tunes, and a positive attitude! That’s what makes the world go round!
We used to have a “Casual Friday” thread with different members taking turns hosting. There were a lot of good laughs, great music, and were open to all who cared to join in. However, still some saw it their right and their station in life to complain!

I’ve been on this site for a bit now and from time to time, still have to endure the bitter sting of harsh criticism. In many ways, I’m still treated as some what of a newbie. A few folks have made me feel a bit more welcome as of late, but the key word here is FEW.
There’s a strange hierarchy here that prolly existed long before I tracked my muddy boots in. Certain members who’ve posted good theories, even if those theories have proven to be wrong, are treated far more respectfully than say, us noobs. Though I detest that word. Noob. Its insulting. To presume that someone new to a forum has nothing to offer is just plain silly. It re-enforces the idea that there is a pecking order here. Better yet, a clique of folks who think that they know what’s what.
While I agree that certain people are better read than others simply because of their writing skill, I like the idea of giving everyone a chance to be heard. It opens the doors of communication and ideas.
That said, I can’t promise to never make a LOST / movie connection again, but I can promise to contribute in a more open-minded and communal way. :)

Molly, oftentimes when someone posts for the first time, they call themsleves a newbie in the post, I don’t think anyone means any insult by the term, it just means someone who is not quite familiar with the site, doesn’t know everyone yet, a newcomer. Typically that “status” is gone in a month or less anyway.
I don’t think anyone considers you a newbie, you’ve been a member quite a while. I remember somewhere you mentioned you hadn’t been around for a while, and given the number of new members daily, it doesn’t take long before anyone who hasn’t been around for while to not be recognized by many people. I did the same, and when I came back, I hardly saw anyone I recognized, and I certainly wasn’t known to many. I was a renewbie!
Molly, something for you to keep in mind for future reference whether it be on this site, or life in general. Respect is NOT given in life, it IS earned!
