Lost Island = Bermuda Triangle = Gateway to Paradise; 3 Locations, 5 Yin Yang People, The numbers 3+5 are very significant = 8, Yin Yang = Destiny / The Fate of the Earth!!!

This is a Spoiler! Don’t read on if you do not think Hud on Cloverfield should have learnt SteadyCam and tips on how to hold the camera steady!! just kidding, LoL!
Evidence of this, there are actually 8 groups of Yin Yang people in Lost -
1)’Seekers of God’ or ‘Light’, this can also be a Big Corporate organization wanting to find the Lost Island, the gateway to the so called ‘Paradise’, or Heaven, which they know exists and seek, they have lots of money and are willing to do whatever it takes to get to the Island, to save the human race from the ‘Darkness’ and Hell! The Seekers can also be classified as ‘The Dharma Group’ - these are the guys after Ben, most likely are the guys on the freighter who want to kill Ben, and are Sayid’s target in his future flashbacks.
2)’Penelope’s Team’, self explanatory, Antartica expedition members etc.
3)’Natives’, these are the original Island dwellers,have magical powers and they periodically go through a Temple ‘ Time Door’, one of them, I’ll give you guesses to who it is, the Native that doesn’t grow old, while Ben grows older and the other being Jacob.
4)’The Others’, these are most-likely, marooners, they do not have magic, come in via ‘The Bermuda Triangle’ typ events, balloon gets lost, shipwrecked, the great-great etc. grandchildren of the first ship that wrecked on the Island (where explosives were found to blow up the hatch)
5)’The Scientists and Mercenaries’, people brought to the Island to try to improve or police it, these include Juliet and the guess who? one that killed Charlie.
6)’The Frenchies’, they were shipwrecked on the island as well probably in the 1970s, one of them, include the French woman, whom Ben slept with and bore a daughter with.
7)’Oceanic Corporate owners’ - they do not want to pay large sums of money to any other survivors, as they spent money for all salvage boats to clear wreckage of the island and dump them near Bali (the Sumatra / Java coast) hence they will not wanted any Oceanic survivors to be found and would spend great amounts of money to hide the Island.
8)’The Lottery Grim Reaper’ or the ‘Hell-seekers’ or ‘Darkness’ are the ‘death’ bringers to the world, their sole purpose is actually to let everyone die on Earth and not get a chance at ‘Paradise’, Walt is a freakish member of them, Michael joins them, to take care of Walt, the Lottery (and the corporation behind them - pays tribute to the saying, ‘Money is the Root of All Evil’, gives out the numbers that mean death to Hurley and all that he has, his relatives, friends, etc. They allow the Island to exist as a wager against God.
NB - ‘God’ the ruler over all dominion, over Earth, he grants the Island as a gateway to Paradise, and he does a ‘wager’ to the ‘Hell-seekers’ in a form of a Machine that will implode the Earth, God is also ruler over the ‘Seen’, and the Unseen’. Jacob is one of the ‘Unseen’ or ‘Angels’.
3), 4) and 6) could all be classified as 1 Group of People lets just for the sake of argument call them the ‘Others’;
The number 5 is a ‘Destiny’ number. 5 Groups it is then.
The ‘wager’ is the damn Machine that they were all clicking the numbers to stop the world from ending, the fail-safe device was initiated, but the Machine is now broken, and the ‘wager’ no more, the world will begin to end through Electromagnetic field fallout which starts with increased Polar Ice cap melting [which coincidentally is what Penelope’s team is studying and trying to repair] and the Earth will have about 108 years left before Armageddon.

I like how you classified all the possible groups in an attempt to clarify the carziness that has become LOST!!!
However, as such, your classification is disputable, but here and now is not the time to discuss, perhaps, half-way through season 5 these 9 possible groups may or may not become more clear.
The most important point you make is the concpet of the 8th group: the Hell-seekers’ or ‘Darkness’ or the ‘death’ bringers to the world.”
Walt’s function in the series has been driving me insane! I am finding (like most people I think, unless I have missed a theory that was posted on here, there are so many now!), it’s so difficult to figure out Walt’s “freakishness” in the story line, other than, of course, being a manifestation of Jacob for Locke, as some beilieve. Moreover, I think it is becoming clear Walt’s freakeshness has been observed by Locke and Walt’s father-in-law. Other than the podcasts and the flashback when we find out Walt’s mom randomly died (which I think Walt has something to do with), I am LOST……………
