Essentially, this is not my theory, but just a closer look at what many people likely missed.
A friend paused the episode of LOST that showed Jacob in the cabin. Jacob was not Jack, like I just read on the highest rated theory on this site; it was Jack’s dad.
I really am not the best about theorizing further and guessing why. I was interested in this website just to clarify some of my own confusion, but thought that I would add this to help anyone with their ideas.
It may have even been mentioned elsewhere; I’m sure my friend isn’t the only one who’s paused the show there. So, comments?
i’m pretty sure everyone on here already knows that the person in the cabin was christian shepard, but thanks for coming out
If we are to believe the theory that in the flash forwards everybodies past that led them to the island; kate doesnt kill her father and Jack didn’t rat out his father thus he takes his place as an alcoholic, then over time Jack might adopt a closer physical resemblace to his father, therefore it is still possible that jacob is the jack of the future trying to put things right. Make sense… ? No? Didn’t think so.
Jacob is Jack’s dad. Totally original and shockingly new.
And, contrary to bigm43’s thought, since a new actor has been hired to play Jacob, it seems unlikely that Jacob and Christian are one and the same.
Here is a twist. Christian Shepard is one of the Oceanic 6.
He was revived by the island, and has been kept hostage by Ben.
This makes the flash foward inwhich Jack tells the Chief of Medicine to get his father from upstairs, credible.
Jacob may very well be Jack. A shorter version of the name Jacob is often Jack, just a thought.
My comment to thevickers comment above about Christian Shepard being one of the oceanic 6, that would be a real twist, but the outside world thinks that Christian Shepard was dead before the plane crashed, so if he comes back alive, it would reveal something about the island it appears that the oceanic 6 must keep a secret.
