If you remember back to season three, Ben was quoted as saying “That’s home Jack, on the other side of that box… and when the time is right, when the time comes, I’ll take you there…… I will take you home Jack.”. It really makes me wonder now with the recovery of the Oceanic 6 looming around the corner. (Joe - Lost theories user)

— MrAlpert

I think that the only person that can rescue the Oceanic 6 will be Ben. We know that Ben gets off the island and the others must have another way of getting off the island – what that is will probably be revealed in the last episode but has probably got something to do with the Orchid station.

I also predict that Widmore’s people will take over the island and that’s why the Oceanic 6 plus the 2 ‘dead’ people had to get off the island – As we have been reminded constantly, Widmore’s/Dharma’s people have come for Ben because he killed all the Dharma Initiative years ago. I think Widmore/Dharma still need Ben as he will probably know lots of information about the island that they need for whatever purpose.

So why did Claire have to leave Aaron - If its true that Aaron is in fact Ben’s grandson then that would make Aaron a target (i.e. they would use Aaron to get at Ben) – so therefore in true Star wars style, Claire and Aaron had to be split up to protect Aaron. I think that once Ben and Claire get off the island, they have to go into hiding and will have taken on false identities – I certainly don’t think Claire dies (and she may have had her death faked with one of the spiders that paralyze people, which ‘even doctors would think the person is dead’ and maybe of the 2 ‘dead’ people who get off the island, Ben may be the other but I think it’s likely to be Jin (I don’t think he’s dead also).

Whoa whoa whoa. Aaron is Ben’s grandson? When was THAT established????

  2. Lojozz Apr 20, 2008 9:41 a.m. Comment: 2

MD it has not been established, I presume MrAlpert is going off the fact that Claire’s ex and father of Aaron looks a little bit like Ben.

i think most buy into the whole aaron is bens grandson thing, but i definately dont.

but i do think you are right about the other way off the island having something to do with the orchid station. :)

Aaron is Christian Shepherds grandson, not Ben’s.

This is a crazy idea, but you only have to look at my previous post to realise I’m just as insane.

It all makes so much sense in your own head doesn’t it?

+1 ‘Cus I like your use of parenthetical dashes in any case.

………and Christian Shepherd is Ben’s long lost brother that has yet to be mentioned…………

you know that whatever happens something retarded from left field will pop out of nowhere.

Exactly, Aaron is Christian Shepherds grandson. Claire’s ex looking like ben? I dont think he does, and besides, it also hasn’t been established that claire’s ex has anything more to do with the plot line anyway (unlike other characters that do, keep popping up) or that Ben has a son….

I do not choose sides on the Ben/Thomas issue, but based on appearances, I don’t think it’s a stretch to think Thomas is a direct relation to Ben. But it’s purely speculation at this point. Some people site the fact that Charles Widmore has one of Thomas’s paintings and use that to suggest Thomas and Charles are connected in a magical island way.

Thomas and Ben’s similarities are numerous: the shape of the forehead, hairline, shape of the brow, placement of the eyes and eyebrows, shape and size of the ears, placement of the ears, shape of the mouth and laughlines. Still, for those unwilling to believe that Thomas looks similar to Ben, here is a closer comparison:

    Thomas and Ben

Also, Aaron being Christian’s grandson and Ben’s grandson are not mutually exclusive. If Aaron is the superbaby everyone claims then Ben and Christian would likely be at odds on his destiny. Although I still fail to see what’s been shown that makes him so important. Yes he was born on the island, but no one claims this is impossible. They only claim that babies conceived on the island are doomed.

I find it hard to believe that the Oceanic 6 leave the island through the orchid. I say that because if they left through some sort of portal to the island, why would jack try to get back to the island by flying back and forth to la and sydney in hopes of a crash??? If they leave through the orchid, the Oceanic 6 will have NO CLUE as to how they left because if he left through the orchid wouldn’t he try to get back through it?!?!?!?

Wow! Thanks Mr. Oat…a picture (or two) says a thousand words! I am one of the good vs. bad grandpa believers, so I appreciate your research! If Aaron isn’t special somehow, why did we get a lengthy backstory on Claire’s interaction with Malkin?!

    Excellent point, goldfish!

    +1

Aaron could be special. But Malkin’s “premonitions” proved nothing to me. Neither did his kidnapping by the others. If Ben, Jacob or the others wanted Aaron, I think they’d have returned for him after his birth. Rosseau didn’t have any problem kidnapping him right out from under Claire’s nose. I just don’t buy into the superbaby destined to rule the island theories yet. Time will tell, I guess.

I can’t see Claire parting with her baby for ANY reason, let alone Ben’s word that the child is in danger-Ben is good, but he ain’t that good! I think Claire would have to die for that to happen.

While Ben could be responsible for getting the O6 off the island, I believe that it may be in a more conventional way (like calling in some ship he has connections to via a safe route to the island) I don’t think they would be “teleported off the island by the Orchid station…how the hell would you explain that!?!?!?

  12. JacksEyes Apr 21, 2008 6:52 a.m. Comment: 12

I think the Kate with Aaron thing will be simply explained.

Kate is holding Aaron standing with the other 4. Claire is temporarily elsewhere. The window of opportunity for leaving the island is closing! “Jack, you must decide right now whether Kate takes Aaron (your nephew) to safety, or leaves him behind in this war zone!.”

As Mr Alpert has already suggested the two ‘dead’ survivours of 815 mentioned by Jack at Kate’s trial could well have been paralysed by the spiders it would give the whole Nikki and Paulo episode some meaning

Just added one of Joe’s comments to the theory - well pointed out Joe. Just one or two points to make - yes it hasn’t been established that Thomas is Ben’s son - but the pictures that Billy has put up are pretty good but not conclusive.

You’ve got to remember the Dharma people want Ben - We know Ben gets off the island and has loads of passports so surely he can be the only one that rescues them. Agree with Zip - the Nikki and paulo storyline had to have some meaning - having thought about it though one of the dead bodies may be Christian Shepherd.

Also if you didn’t know there is apparently going to be a spectacular kiss off island - could this be between Claire and Aaron?

Sorry to say, I think Claire dies right at the moment of rescue. I think she gets really close to rescue but then dies some completely unexpected death. Maybe she hands Kate her baby so she can board the boat/chopper/submarine (whatever) and just as she is climbing in, something happens and she is killed. Then the vehicle has to take off very suddenly and Kate is holding the baby. That is how Kate becomes the new mommy.

It has been established in the past that I DO have a wild imagination, but I really do think something along these lines will take place - this season. We will see…

I think Claire’s storyline is running thin. I mean, how many words has she even said in the past few episodes? I remember her asking Locke if she can talk to Miles but I think that is it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was killed off simply because there isn’t much more left for her on the show, especially with Charlie (her love interest) gone.

but think flashforward now…… why wouldnt jack want to go to Kates for coffee because of Arron? whats the deal with that? so he finds out that he has a nephew? whats his beef?

call me a cynic but i dont get it
