More evidence for me to repoeat what I’ve posted before.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Ben is in the coffin.
Ffast and to the point: If it was one of the Oceanic-6 (four are not seen in the episode but one is Erin who Kate must “get back to” ) then there would be press there to cover the event, curious people, family members. Michael, maybe…but even his family would still go to see him, that’s what family does.
Ben? Hell yes. And knowing that Ben is dead and Jack sees his last, best hope of getting back to the island also dying is what drives the good doctor even furthur into his despair.
Unlsee someone not of the Oceanic-6 gets off the island someway and assumes a fake identity which both Jack and Kate are aware of, the ben is the only other one off the island who could be in the coffin that both Kate and Jack know about.

To be honest, i believe it’s Michael ..Why? Obviously,michael went back to civilization and managed somehow not to be revealed to the public as apassenger on the oceanic flight , then he goes back to work for ben on the frieghter as #Kevin Johnson#
What i believe in , is that no matter what he does , Walt wont be happy with him which leads him into despair , perhaps killing himself?
The nieghbourhood was An afro-american surroundings , None cared about going to the ceremony .. and it also explains why jack would be despaired , since Michael did manage to go back , so that means he knows how to get to the Island , and that was Jack’s last hope ..
i dont know ! everything is possible in LOST i think we’ll just need to wait and see … +1 for your enthusiasim anyway , stick into it .

That’s a good point that Micheal’s family should be there… his mother, at least. If it was Ben, it makes sense neither family nor friends attended his funeral.
But it’d kill me if Ben dies. Oooh I will be so pissed. So regardless of how good it looks, for that reason alone I’ll never vote for Ben. : )
(unless… said person in coffin isn’t really dead and the whole thing is just a coverup to conceal some secret which forced Ben to fake his own death…..!) No? Ok…
The dead man could be anyone … but it seems the most obvious is Micheal, but he’d also be the least surprising.

Here’s a question though. Has anyone freezeframed Ben’s passport drawer? Is it possible that one of the aliases matches or is similar to the name in the obituary? Just a thought.
The absence of family/friends at the funeral certainly points to Ben.
I agree about Ben. Why would Jack give a [blank] about Michael. What would Mike have had to offer Jack that would drive him to want to jump off a bridge [I wonder if the island would have let Jack commit suicide]. Plus Kate did something very similar to what Mike did [she killed someone to protect someone she loved] so I think is anyone would have compassion for Mike’s situation it would have been her. Also everyone likes to make a big deal about the neighborhood the funeral home was in, but I feel that that was a misdirect. Also I am sorry I can’t remember the posters name, but they brought to light a good point about the funeral director asking Jack if he is friend or family. He asks this in one sentence with no pause between friend and family. I find it hard to believe if it was Mike in the coffin the funeral director would assume Jack was related to Mike. I also agree with the O6 comments about the press and onlookers showing up. Also another sticking point is that it mentions something about being survived by a son. If Mike is using a fake name how would they deduce he has a son unless Walt is using the same fake last name. pictures in the apartment would not automatically mean they are of a son. Also why would he use yet another fake name other than Kevin Johnson? What was he calling himself when he first got back to New York? They never told us that. It obviously isn’t Kevin Johnson or Tom wouldn’t have said “meet Kevin Johnson” when he handed him that passport. On a different note, the Faraday option really peaks my interest though. Maybe someone could expand on this a little more. I would be willing to think on this. Cheerio chaps and lasses.
Jack hates Micheal for betraying the Losties. Why would he go to his funeral then?
