so, should everybody be brought up to speed? or would that spoil things for the rest of us?

— locks_cheese_dream

simple really… for a long time i have been 99.999999% sure of the big pilot episode clue, as im sure many of you have.

we all know that the lost camp likes to bend the rules a little when dishing out clues and acceptance of this is imperative to this theory, as it is the only possible cause of doubt in my mind.

nowadays it seems impossible to catch up on other theories without having to wade through endless sub-entry level questions, which would be much better fulfilled by researching some of the excellent older posts on the site. not to mention some of the wrath-inspiring theories on the big pilot clue (frankly, i doubt that kate using black cotton on jacks wound really gives us enough info…)

so, should everybody be brought up to speed? or would that spoil things for the rest of us? lets get some feedback together and make a collective decision….

The Freighter people are NOT the ones that do the rescuing. The season finale will leave you ballistic as far as cliffhangers go. Source: Lost Spoilers

Yes, please bring us all into the realm of understanding with the pilot episode BIG clue! thanks

I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all, a post to bring everyone up to date with the known facts. But it would be a major undertaking for someone, and they’d have to really be certain their facts were actually established facts. (in other words, not for me lol)

oh cripes, i couldn’t fully explain the ramifications and tie up the loose ends, if anything, finding the clue makes it all the more confusing!

before s4 it was a real shocker, but i think there have been enough hints in this season to confirm its relevance to the plot.

also, what are the current best theories on this?

  7. lockeko Apr 14, 2008 6:28 p.m. Comment: 7

so, what exactly is it you want someone to do?

You know, as far as the searching the old theories goes, most people on here can’t spell to save their lives. Therefore, searching becomes very difficult.

How did the concept of a major clue being introduced in the pilot episodes is a better question. The writers have already said that there is no clue in the Pilot episodes that has not been uncovered, except answering Charlie’s question “Where are we?”. It seems like an urban legend more than anything else. I would be more interested in knowing how this particular unsubstantiated event reached such an audiance and occupies an unusial staying power, while most other similiar occurances are readily discounted. Perhaps there is a grain of truth to it, but I’ve yet to see one interview, article, podcast, ect. where anyone mentions a major clue in the pilot episodes. If anybody knows of one, please let us know.

I have often tried to use the search function here and the results are less than great. The following is the result of the search for ‘pilot clue’:

    http://www.lost-theories.com/theories/search/?s=pilot+clue

And it returns the underwhelming amount of three posts. The search barely works if you have more than one term in the search eg “Hugo’s lottery win” returns zero

    http://www.lost-theories.com/theories/search/?s=hugo%27s+lottery+win

    or Leonard cursed numbers

    http://www.lost-theories.com/theories/search/?s=leonard+cursed+numbers

So it is very hard for anyone old and new alike to use the search to research a particular topic

lostmap- could be true, i’m just operating on the same heresay and speculation as everyone else. however this is by no means a new theory, just one that never seems to have made it to the forefront of the argument.

lockeko:i was kinda hoping for yes/no reponses to tally up . finding this clue shattered some of my illusions about the show and i didn’t know if it was appropriate to spill the beans when people may take more enjoyment from staying aloof. i’m guessing youre informed enough to know what this revelation will be, so do you think the average viewer would really benefit from knowing something which might confuse them into apathy for the show? and would that be a good or bad thing for this sadly abused site?

i’ll be back tomorrow to check up and post the evidence, though if people don’t want to know then i’ll hide it away in spoilers and link across… and then begins the debate!

    word.

    ok there is…

Jacks scar. He cut his head in the future. got stiches. But in the PILOT he has the scar. It disappears during season 1. Timeloop?

Vincent-Christian. is vincent the clue? is he really smoky?

The clouds. Damn it does look like the clouds has writing in it. It really does. Pilot part 2

    Who knows?

    I love this damn show

In the 4/16/07 podcast Damon and Carlton said that the only remaining mystery from the pilot was Charlie’s question, “where are we?”. They go on to list all the mysteries from the pilot episode that were answered…there are 7 or 8 of them (check lostpedia for the podcast, I just relistened to it to be sure). Please don’t tell me lockscheesedream that you are going to give us the same crap about 3 different pilot announcements on the plane to Charlie, Kate, and Jack.

I guess I am that 0.000001% that doesn’t know the big clue from the pilot episode.

lockescheesedream…this post is a silly exercise in egotism. there’s not some “secret clue” from the pilot that only you and a handful of veterans from this site know. you just think that you found something and you want everyone to kiss your feet. -1 from me. I would give you -100 if I could.

I know the clue already—if you look really closely there is an airplane that crashes on the beach! Just kidding—i’d rather not know any spoilers.

falco, I heard them say that too, but I don’t buy it. Smokey is still one huuuge mystery. Plus they didn’t address the presence of the pilot’s CLUES in that statement, just that there were no more mysteries from the pilot. And those are two different things.
