It’s virtually identical in perimeter!

Lost Maps v’s real island in Lake Victoria, Tanzania, Africa. And it has a crater. What a coincidence……….

    Well I must admit that is a serious comparison. They do look almost alike. Not sure I believe that is the island they are meant to be on but I have to say that the two islands have a crazy resemblance. +1 Good observation.

    Well, i don’t think it’s the island in Lake Victoria, BUT remember, they did have to come up with an island shape from somewhere, one that would fit all they had in mind to be on the island. The writers could very well have chosen that island as their model.

    LSPlord & Oz good points. Maybe we always see the island as organic but actually it is a man-made facility based on this african island. Hmm maybe some Hanso visited the African one, liked it so much he built his own……… maybe thats why the Black rock is in the middle?

    Alvaro, I feel your comments are very inappropriate to Five. Especially, given the fact Five is female! Assuming that you are a man, I hope you will indeed take the manly approach of extending your apologies to her.

    I think the best possiblity is that the map of the lake victoria island was copied for production purposes, but who knows with this show?
