another book comparison which has probably already been spotted by all you Columbos out there - the book in question is Hell Island by Matthew Reilly - it’s about an island which cannot be found on any map or radar - it’s also and more importantly where secret scientific experiments have been taking place by a secret organisation - please can somebody spread some light on this if not already done so
same as above

magpie: I googled both the book and the author. The book is actually a novella and a sequel to Reilly”s book “Scarecrow”. It was published in 2005 only in Australia for “Books Alive”; an Australian initiative to encourage all Australians to read, even the reading impaired.
It was released worldwide in 2007.
The fact that it was written and published after Lost started seems to negate any connection. But oddly enough, in the recap, it does refer to a DARPA scientist and underground tunnels.
Maybe he borrowed this from Lost and not the other way around! lol
You can see more at his website MatthewReilly.com
good call annie, of course he may have written the work long before it was published
Throw Matthew Reilly in the Foot Dungeon for plagiarism.
lockeko: Sorry, I should have added this to avoid confusion. From widipedia: In August 2005, as part of the Australian Books Alive Promotion, Reilly penned the novella Hell Island, a close to 100 page short story following up from Scarecrow. :)
