LOST-Theories.com

im sure that others might have mentioned this but i have not read it recently.

Alot has been made about Sawyer becoming a cold blooded killer. well i agree with this completly and just want to point out that when Sawyer killed the first copper he was internally devestated and that when on the island he tries to kill the almost dead Marshall he cannot even do it and once again is a wreck that he has caused a person so much pain even one who is on the Brink of death . (Jack by the way does kill him in a bad ass scene which is interesting).

Anyway Now Sawyer has no problem kiling in fact he seemed to take a sick joy in it like he was a getting a high off of it (which many serial killers get).

So where is this going, I don’t know maybe a showdown between Jack and Sawyer over kate or Maybe Sawyer becomes a madman killer. Maybe im wrong and he goes back to normal. whatever it is right now he is looming over becomeing serial

I believe Sawyer is going to play the islands version of Rambo…Hey maybe Jack can be Rocky.

i only think he “enjoyed” killing is because they were justified. antony cooper made his father kill himself and his mother, and tom because he shot sawyer on the boat and as sawyer says “thats for takin the kid off the raft” which lead to him being almost eatan by a shark and ultimately being held in a bear cage. or maybe tom just wanted off the show and the producers thought this was the best way for him to go

jakeedee: I have to respectfully disagree with you. Sawyer, in my opinion, got no joy out of killing either Anthony Cooper or Tom. In fact, killing Anthony Cooper devastated him. He became a tortured soul after that. Does this turn him into a serial killer? I say no.

And as for killing Tom, he had his reasons for that and we don’t know yet how he will handle the aftermath of that killing.

One more thing, a friendly caution, if you will; there are a lot a Sawyer lovers on this site who are going to really hate this theory. So be be afraid, be very afraid….. :)

Why Annie dear are you by any chance refering to me?

Sharpens claws. Puts claws away again

Jakee I shall attempt to respectfully disagree as respectfully as Annie who is my role model in such things. I don’t believe Sawyer has yet killed in ‘cold blood’ as it were. Although his killing of Tom was surprising I think it stemmed from his rage at himself and the world. It was almost like a crime of passion if you like. As for the ‘sick joy’ of which you speak I see no evidence of this whatsoever.

I’m with mrs on this one.

I think Sawyer, like Jack, is fed up with the Other’s antics.

If some group of people had three of my buddies gagged, tied up, and at gunpoint, you can bet your butt I wouldn’t be a happy camper.

I don’t think he took pride or enjoyed doing it.

Sawyers not a serial killer, you have to kill three people to be a serial killer!

LMAO CPB. Three is the magic number after all.

If it’s a Sawyer debate, i have to add my two cents in. I respectfully disagree with Jakeedee regarding Sawyer enjoying killing Tom and Cooper. In the Cooper incident, you can tell he was devastated…in the Tom incident i believe he was just making a point.

Annie, i respectfully disagree regarding the justification for killing Tom. Like Hurly stated, Tom “surrendered”. Sawyer had no reason for the kill. Holding a gun to Kate’s head and kidnapping a child (knowing full well the child now back with his father and is long gone as we believe) does not justify out right murder.

That said, I believe Sawyer’s role will end in a sacrifice considering he “issue” is over (unless the Lost writers will open a new twist in his story in order to avoid a backlash from the likes of mrssawyer and wtf). If we take the twin-mirroring concept that’s being used by the writers, then the Tom killing will eventually lead to Sawyer’s death.

Ah KB welcome my friend. In answer to your point to Annie let me again quote both Sawyer and Hurley…

Hurley: He surrendered. Sawyer: I didn’t believe him.

Maybe Sawyer can smell BS when he smells it.

Ben has the Others so snowed they don’t know right from wrong.

    My apologies :(

All i know is that if torture is bad then what Sawyer did to Tom is murder!

Hurley’s “Dude, he surrendered” line is actually stressing the fact that Tom shouldn’t have been shot. What ever Sawyer answers is his justification…it didn’t make it right!

I’m with Annie, MrsS, Sham and Kat on this one. It’s similar to the thread I just commented on.

Sawyer is taking vengeance on Tom for separating a son from his father in the same way that was done to him.

Sawyer is now Jack’s avenging angel.

Has anyone noticed how the Losties have gelled as a unit? Watching each other’s back, taking one for each other, Sawyer going back to help the beach unit, etc. Its fun to watch them evolve from strangers to a well oiled machine.

I think there was a reason for the groups being separated. Group A on the beach will remain on the island. Group B by the tower will be taken off the island.

Season 4 could be about the groups trying to come back together…or communicate with each other?

Did anyone like Frequency with Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel. I’m not saying it will go that way, but if time is different island vs off island, communicating could become a very interesting aspect of the show.

Stip: You’re absolutely right. They have become more of a unit. I haven’t seen Frequency so I don’t know if the show will go that way. But looking back now, I can see prior to Jack and Juliet coming back with Carl to warn the other Losties of the impending attack, they were disjointed. No plans, all mulling around or off on their own.

With the impending attack, they came together as a true group with a leader (or two) and I think now that solidarity will serve them well against the Frieghties TM.
