Here it goes…
When the plane crashed, everyone died - and nobody survived. All what we see on the show are the thoughts of one (or more people) during they pass away (maybe it’s just a second or a part of a second - we see on all those episodes).
For me - this would explain everything I saw until now, for instance think about this: - The “bright light” and “smokey” (some have to go to heaven, some have to go to hell) - Eco was a bad man and got caught by smokey - Locke’s father, who had an accident and didn’t remember how he came to the island (he died during a car accident) - Locke, who had definetely a broken back - is able to walk again. - There were no children born anymore on the island - dead women can’t birth children. - Eco’s brother (and some other dead people) appear all of a sudden or are part of the island - The message from Naomi, that the plane was found and everyone got killed - They are all connected to each other in a strange kind - I’m sure they haven’t seen before each other before they entered the airport and later the plane. - No one is able to leave the island (because when you’re dead, you can’t go back) - The island can’t be found - exept someone has died (the submarine was a fake - and no one, who has ever entered the island, left it alive.
The people who have died during the series until now, have already passed away in “real time” - and step by step all the people will die, because they are drowning and/or realizing they have to die - and ready for leave the “twilight zone”.
Of course, there are some things, I can’t explain - like the meaning of the Dharma initiative. But I guess there is a lot of stuff put into the series just to keep the tension till the end - and to cover up the real solution of the mystery.

I believe that the producers have nixed any ideas of heaven, hell. purgatory, or somebody’s dream.
Welcome, Boby. Sorry to say this theory has been debunked by the writers.
However…I guess we all will be very pissed, when the mystery is solved. Either because everything is that simple (like purgatory) or because it’s so far-fetched, that not even the craziest people are willing to accept the explanation. But the good thing: We all will see it in the end. I guess we will feel like after the revelation of a legerdemain from David Copperfield - and surely not highly excited because of the brilliancy of the “Lost”-therory.
