Who bought the plane tickets?
— lostintennessee
Just a small theory..or just an observation….not sure….if u got any info please share!!!
Ok…So since the first and second season I have been trying to figure out if someone else bought the losties their plane tickets..I’m not sure if this has much to do with anything just thought it was kinda weird! Sorry if someone has already proven this or wrote about!!
Now, I haven’t seen how or when every single person on the plane bought their ticket, the most Ive seen is everyone checking into the airport to board their flight to L.A. So here I go……
Jack’s, could have or was bought by his mother when she sent him to go find his father.
Claire’s, was bought by that physic.
Hurley’s, was probably by his travel agent.
Kate’s & Us Marshall, probably by the government.(or whoever it is the Marshall worked for)
Charlie’s, his travel agent/ the band/ his brother/ his agent or some label wanting to get his brother back with the band.( not sure about this one…needs help)
Locke’s, i think, was reimbursed to him by the survivor tour place….i think?
Micheal’s & Walt’s, Walt’s stepfather bought them.
Sawyer’s, again Im not sure with this one but maybe, the guy who told him he found the real sawyer in Australia, did he give him a plane ticket when they meet up?
Ana Lucia’s, I bet Jack’s dad!!
Libby’s, who the hell knows…im still shifty on her, could be DI/Widmore if shes a spy, or maybe if shes for real a psychiatrist, she could have been on business, so her company paid for it..I really dont know!(theories would help)
Eko’s, the church, he was on assignment.
Jin’s & Sun’s, wasn’t Jin supposed to be delivering a “watch” or something, so probably Sun’s dad.
Sayid, I think it was those Government Agents, wasn’t that what he was doing down under when we saw that flashback?
Shannon’s & Boone’s, maybe by his mother or through the company?
Rose’s & Bernard’s, stumped again, maybe a hospital or the healer they went to see, I have no good clues for this one please help.
Nikki’s & Paulo’s, not sure again, maybe her agent, she was an actress right?
Mr. Arzt’s, again no clue, if he was still teaching maybe he was there on assignment….i really don’t know about this one.
Ok, Ok, so u get the idea, like I said this might have nothing to do with nothing, just keeps driving me nuts like the damn numbers, and once again sorry if someone posted something like this and i wasted ur time, just wanted to know what everyone thinks or has thought about this, obliviously i need some help with it. Just wanted to bring it up before I make some theories about it and someday says “nope ur wrong blah blah & blah blah bought their own tickets this theory is stupid”…..lol……ok so no one sounds like that but ya know what I mean!!! Thanks everyone for the help and criticism, u know I love u guys:)

I think it is interesting and at least true for many of our Losties. It could point to a conspiracy.
Ooh interesting. I hadn’t thought of that angle before. I like the observation!
Lost: I definitely would concur with “The Three Wise Men/Women”. Great thoughts! +1
Hurley bought his own ticket. Remember the lady made him buy 2 because he was too big.
Ah yes Temple well remembered!
Great theory man!! I never thought about it like that.
Heeeeeeeey Stickman! You’re back!
Hurley might be an interesting exception, then—his being on the plane unplanned for?
I’ve actually thought about this quite a bit but I’m not sure if there really is enough evidence to draw the conclusion that they were set up. Jack bought his own ticket (remember he was arguing with the ticket agent and talking about how he had to bring his Father’s body home etc.) As temple said above, Hurley bought his as well and I believe so did Anna Lucia. She traveled to Australia with Jacks father but she seemed to leave on her own after her argument with Christian. (After they left that woman’s house they got into an argument and she stopped the car in front of a bar where he meets Sawyer.) I ad the impression that she decided to leave on her own at that point.
But there are certainly a lot of people who were provided tickets and probably didn’t have much say in which airline and flight they took. As you mentioned, Kate and Sawyer were both put on that plane via the Police. Jin and Sun got their tickets from her father’s company (which appears to be linked to Hanso.)
Sayid was actually “put” on a flight the previous day, but insisted his flight be switched so he could see to the proper burial of his friend.
Syn-chro-f’n-icity man

I do think that everyone was set up to end up on the island but I’m not sure if the tickets were purchased for everyone or it was just made for them to buy there own tickets.
Even better…

I don’t remember that about Sayid getting his flight switched. Are you sure you have your facts straight?
Weren’t Rose and Bernard on “vacation” to see the healer? They probably bought their own tickets?
I like this theory! +1
He’s right, Durance…
This is exactly what I wanted from u guys…thanks so much!!
Jaz: I do feel like maybe, just maybe, Hurley shouldn’t have made that flight, everything seemed to be working against him, but also if u look at it things were working against some of the other losties too, Jack almost not getting his dad aboard, Sayid getting questioned moments before getting on the plane, Sun almost ran away, therefore Jin probably wouldn’t have gotten on……and so on and so on…but it was really weird with Hurley, all the numbers popping up everywhere….i really liked the soccer team in the airport, when he ran past them all their numbers were in order..4,8,15,16,23,42.
Durance: Yes, Sayid did ask to be bumped to the next day, so he could stay behind and bury his friend.
Thanks again everyone….I do believe everyone was meant to be there, we just don’t know why yet. I really appreciate all the comments and the +1’s, u guys are awesome. :)
Good thoughts, Tennessee. Another nail in the coffin of the conspiracy theory!! +1
Nickee: I agree, Rose and Bernard were on their honeymoon and went to see the faith healer, so most probably bought their oun tickets.
Sham: Thanks, now I can’t get that second song out of my head. :-)
Durance: I second that, Prof is right.
This is interesting! Sorry, if someone already posted it http://youtube.com/watch?v=z9iS5CYzCi8
I can’t shake this nagging feeling that this may link to “Jacob’s List”
Perhaps Jacob had a list of people he wanted bringing to the island. So it was arranged for that flight for the people on the list to be on it. Rumours speculate that the reason that the smoke killed the pilot is because he was in on it the whole time, and actually meant to fly them off course.
People that ended up on the island that weren’t on Jacob’s List could arguably be people that weren’t planted on the plane that was destined to crash on the island - i.e Jack who bought his own ticket at the last minute.
+1 from me!
The only way this theory works really is if we can ascertain how the “accidental” lateness of button-pushing by Dezza, was controlled by the Others.
The most plausible explanation (and I’m sure its been raised before) is that Kelvin is an Other that “made” Desmond follow him out of the hatch to find the boat and then run back and hit the numbers in late. Perhaps even by some Benipulation-style mind tricks. I need to go and rewatch the episode in question to see if this is possible that he was “made” to go outside because of hints Kelvin made to mess with Dezza’s mind.
That way, knowing a plane was flying over (something as easy as bribing the pilot) and getting Desmond out of the hatch so he couldn’t press the button till late would bring down the plane, and all the people planned to be on it.
Its dubious but possible.
I actually think that it WAS planned for Desmond to press the button late so the plane would crash.
Staypuff, what a GREAT comment about Kelving “making” Desmond late for the button pushing…..If I had to bet on it, I would say you are right on the money!!!
Yeah, I totally agree with all this too….Kelvin just happened to not see a big tear or for that matter check his suit before leaving, if he really didn’t want Desmond being suspicious, he could have acted why more convincing, making sure Desmond never followed him outside.
Thanks everyone for +1’s and comments!!!!!!
Good theory losti and great comments.Great idea staypuft! Id like to give you a +1 also!
thanks wtf..aka donna..hehe…thanks for the +1..hope to talk to ya soon on myspace and in here!!! Thanks again everyone!
good idea but I do think several of the losties bought their own tickets. maybe they are the one’s not on jacob’s list
I dont think desmond was supposed to push the button late as the others were not ready for it, if you catch my drift the plane crashed and then ben sent goodwin and ethan to their posts on opposite sides of the island if he knew he would have sent them sooner. What i think is interestng is the idea that everyone had a chance to miss the flight but didnt.
I am missing a few reasons for some people but alot of the losties had the opportunity to miss that flight.
Hurley we know could have missed that flight about 15 times haha, charlie nearly missed it and was also offered a chance to stay in sydney by his brother.
Jack again we all know about, and Sayid with his luggage. Sun was going to run away and if she had Jin wouldnt have gone on the flight either.
Kate got caught if she hadnt she wouldnt have been on it. Claire wanted to get a different flight if i remember correctly and the psychic said no it has to be this one.
Locke was sent on this plane but also nearly missed it as they didnt have the special chair and they carried him on. Rose and Bernard were on holiday and should have been staying longer then they did but because rose was sick of bernard trying to fix her they left early. As with Anna-Lucia also.
Sawyer was deported by australian authorities. (do we know why? if we do i have a mind blank) Shannon only wanted Boones money and didnt plan on going home but went anyway so they shouldnt have been on that flight.
Eko shouldnt have been on the flight Yemi should have but having assumed Yemi’s possition in the church he had to do Yemi’s job. (This would still be relevant if Yemi died even ten years prior to the losties crash)
Walts mother died and he didnt want to leave porter but had no choice, Michael also wanted walt to stay with porter as he didnt want to cause Walt confussion.
I think I have covered most people but i dont know its just my feeling that everyone was meant to miss that plane. I know I have missed Libby but we dont know anything about her really. The airhostess chick tho she wouldnt have flown that day if noone had turned up? am I right! I dunno I think its an interesting idea.
Thanks everyone so much for your comments, they are greatly appreciated!!!!!
I say this so often that I’m just going to start cutting and pasting it.
Any theory that involves the Losties being intentionally brought to the island is wrong. The pilot didn’t do it. Cindy surely didn’t volunteer to fall out of the sky.
Please go back and check this out: Desmond sees a tear in Kelvin’s hazmat suit. Desmond risks his life (as far as he knows) by breaking quarantine and following Kelvin. Wimpy Desmond manages to accidentally kill the US Special Forces- trained Kelvin. Desmond is upset, loses track of time. Desmond gets back to the hatch late. Enters numbers, but not before there was a system error that brought down 815.
Conspirators would have to know that Kelvin was going to leave the hatch at that time. They would have to know that Des would notice the rip. They would have to anticipate that Desmond, who, up to that point, was a certified coward, was going to risk his life by leaving the hatch without a hazmat suit. The conspirators would have to know that Desmond would confront the larger, better trained Kelvin. They would have to know that Kelvin would die at Desmond’s hands, and that Desmond would be somewhat dazed by this. They would have to plan for Desmond to get back to the hatch late enough to bring down 815, not not so late as to actually end the world.
Did I miss anything?
So, no conspiracy. No plan to get them onto the island. Accident. We all saw it. It was on TV.
If I wanted to get 48 people onto a deserted island, dropping them from 30,000 feet inside a jagged-edged flaming aluminum tube would not even be among my top 10,000 ideas.
Oh, and by the way, Sawyer was being deported, so the Australian government probably bought his ticket.
Oh, and by the way…………willsdad…….shut the fucc up, its fine if u dont like this idea, criticize on it dont make some more lame comments like u did on my other theory…….by the way take a look at ur profile and see how well ur doing!
Thanks to everyone else!!!!
losti…you go Girl !!! ;-)
thanks wtf, luv ya girl, u back now? wills has just been going around being an ass and not making any useful comments, its ok if people dont agree with what i post, thats fine im, not goin cry, but he shouldnt go on and on and on about why he thinks it sucks, ya know, hes being too insensitive about it instead of being helpful, by god his theories are……well……there bad…..so he really has no right…but whatever…..moving on!
Wow. I thought we were here to discuss ideas. Apparently only praise is allowed on this one. And only by people with high enough scores on their theories, too.
My average theory score is pretty low, so…I guess I LOVE this.
