my partner seems to think that in the season 3 finale {Jacks flashback}where he’s all messed up -is a time before his dad got made chief of surgery where his dad then a drunk then got help at the AA then became chief of surgery after Dr hamil .
what ya think?

i thought it was stated that the flash forward was set in 2007

3 for 3. It was a flash forward. Still, Jack’s comment to the new chief of surgery about his father was odd.
guess what… i agree with the posters before. the producers have stated clearly that this is what will happen in the future for the losties. not (thank the powers that be) the end of the show.
i reckon we’ll just have to wait.

sham, I don’t think that comment Jack made about his dad was a odd as people think. He was hyped up on drugs at the time. In fact Jack thought that he, himself, was still working at the hospital.
I think he was back and working at the hospital Annie (charity maybe?). How many hospitals will let just anyone don a coat, grab a patient’s info. and x-rays, and have access to the drug cabinet?
At the same time, I think they were humoring(?) Jack because they knew he had been through hell. Maybe the delusional Jack thought his father might still be alive because he saw a vision of him on the island.
Actually, on second thought, that’s not a delusion, that’s a psychotic episode. Nobody forgets that there dad died.
exactly shambala! how could Jacks dad be alive in 2007 and dead in 2004? I can only think of time being messed up or two stories going on at the same time unless on the island they ressurect the dead!
and… if the plane crashed in 2004 and they apparently got off the island in 2007 and yet spent only about 93 days on the island then that also would suggest to me that time is all messed up.
Actually, I didn’t make that last comment. Just more antics I’m afraid. I’m surprised it took them that long.

Right. If they get off the island in 2004, and the flash forward is to 2007, that does not imply a time distortion.
