i’ll bet hanso/ paik/ dharma could arrange a suitable new life…

— locks_cheese_dream

ok - so the pilot episode clues brought all this up in the first place, assuming that the “crashbacks” of jack, kate and charlie are to be taken as the biggest available clue (?).

it seems that these were three seperate crashes, (rewatch them again, paying particular attention to the pilot/captains announcement to fasten seatbelts), leading us to ponder many possibilities…. the one i’m focusing on is that these flashbacks reached back to different points in time, and each characters past, as opposed to all having happened simultaneously at the same point in real-world time.

to me, jack seems aware of his “deja-vu” from the start although he hasn’t come to fullly realise it yet, for whatever reason…

charlie… to be honest i forgot my observations on him, but he’s dead now so it doesn’t matter…

kate, however… well, i’m fairly convinced that kate has been fully aware of her prescence and role on the island from the very start, and that she is complicit with one of the ever-growing threats to our unlikely heroes.

be it the others, hanso, dharma or any other party which may present itself, looking back over those first six episodes is quite different with this in mind.

why? well… she was seemingly the only person to remember the entire crash , everyone else seemed to black out (due to translocation/ time travel/ whatever… )was she prepared? also, was she wearing anklecuffs? if so, does that rule her flashback out of being the latest one? ) remember how she was first to get the gun? straight in to gain jack’s trust and deeper thoughts about their situation? she was desperate to get “lost” from the outside world, where she could never settle down, i’ll bet hanso/paik/dharma could arrange a suitable new life…

all the little reactions and facial expressions etc add up to make this theory difficult to throw away (at this stage anyway…), it would be interesting to see how it fits into anybody else’s. (especially since so many guys out there seem to think that she is bird material, haha! she’d ruin you boys)

and this is my first post, go easy!

OK so maybe I am just dense but can you explain why “clearly, these were three different crashes,”

okay so how do you explain how you can see charlie in Jack’s “crashback” and vice versa? minus one.

    and

charlie… to be honest i forgot my observations on him, but he’s dead now so it doesn’t matter…

that’s one of the more rediculous things ever written on this site.

I dont’t think Kate or any one of the survivours is the cobra. If any of them are I would be annoyed, we’ve had Ethan and Goodwin and to reveal yet another ‘mole’ in the beach party would be pushing it.

I do, however think that the Nicki/Paulo flashback with reference to the ‘cobra’ was a clue, but I think the cobra will turn out to be somebody we have seen in a flashback as opposed to somebody on the island.

The names you mention seem familiar, but the events you describe have nothing to do with the show I watch (clearly there were 3 different crashes). Are you sure your on the rite channel?

cpb - i figured that our empathy for the survivors is adding another dimension to the story, since it allows us to speculate over the individuals’ integrity and motives. therefore, isn’t there a good possibility that one of our better loved characters could turn sour? i reckon kate would cause the biggest upset among fans.

hate to draw the parallel, but take nina from 24 as a classic example.

browncoat - they have all experienced the crash together, though a great many people believe this has happened repeatedly. given the time travel/ projection / looping/ destiny-vision themes of later seasons, its plausible that certain key characters have to be on that flight in order to relive their time on the island and… change their destiy ? ( or whatever it turns out to be….)

everyone else - sorry for not having three hours to fill in all the gaps. by this stage i’m assuming we’ve been through all the major theories repeatedly, coming to our own conclusions along the way, and maybe want something deeper to consider.

thinking through other peoples theories can often strengthen / challenge your own beliefs, doesn’t that make it worthwile?

We saw her on the run. We saw her caught. We saw her in handcuffs. We saw her on the plane. I guess you missed some of these episodes?

Three plane crashes? No. Watching Pilot, Part 1 three times is not the same as three crashes.

I can’t disagree more with your unwarranted assumption that “all the little reactions and facial expressions etc add up to make this theory difficult to throw away[.]” Every reaction and facial expression I’ve seen make this theory a complete throw-away.

I still think that, as a group, we spend too much time creating elaborate, slightly ridiculous, completely baseless theories in an attempt to infuse every single scene in LOST with meaning that isn’t there, and to deprive them of the meaning that is there.

I’m giving you a plus one, anyway. I’m on a mission to restore balance to the universe.

Oh, and another reason Kate can’t be a bad guy. Have you seen her in her undies? Swimming? And the freckles? Bad girls don’t have freckles. That is a proven, scientific fact.

hehehe, you could be right. but surely the beauty of the show is that we are left to explore every avenue, or not, as we see fit?

does anyone remember the quote for the big clue…? i thought they said “in the first episode” and took that to include pilot part 2.
