Sorry I still can’t post comments, always the same error (HTTP 500 Page can not be rendered) so my only possibility to contact you is via this “theory”.

your theory Nurture V’s Nurture is very interesting! +1 please check out the following author and his novel ‘The Traveler’ and tell me what you think. In my opinion there are a lot of references to LOST:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheTraveler%28novel%29

sorry, If I do not bring up some news and you already have seen it.

Interesting in that context: Branden Hookway (2000): Panspectron. Branden Hookway introduced the concept of the Panspectron. It is an enhancement of the Panopticons and does not define a special object that is observed, everything and everybody is observed.

The island as the center of a Panspectron???

Hi Thanks for the + and the link. Lost is full of Sci fi literature links…. I had not seen the traveler before, very interesting. Similar to ideas in 1984 and The British TV show ‘the prisoner’. I really like the fact that The Traveler author John Twelve Hawks is not publicly known and “lives off the grid.” He seems to be living in his book. Maybe this links to the bad twin novel and the writers of Lost…………? Thanks again

Check out the ‘off the grid’ author of The Traveler website http://www.randomhouse.com/features/johntwelvehawks/. Have a look at ‘realm 2’ A-Z reference section, there are many links to my theory and Lost in general, Bentham, Boone, Tabula, Shepherd. It’s a very odd site, almost like the writers of lost are John Twelve Hawks

Do you mean the island is a testing ground for a panspectron or is the home of a current global functioning panspectron? Either way I like it. Very Big Brother. Brilliant Link Beyond +1!

Hi, thanks for your response and the links! Very, very interesting. You are right, the author’s site is very odd. Who is he? Where is he? Maybe he is trapped on an island whispering “Help me” to Locke? ;-))

And there are really many links to your theory, I’m sure you are onto something here.

I can imagine that the island could be some kind of testing ground for a panspectron. A place to oberseve and control one nation, or even the whole world? Who is the observer? What is his intention? Are the Losties being tested if they are somehow worth to become agents of the “Observer”. Did Michael already pass the tests and therefore was allowed to leave the island? The more I think about this the more questions arise…. But that’s why I love LOST :-) Thanks again for your theory and making me think in a complete new direction.

I thought the same about Jacob, I’m now certain the book is linked to Lost. Since your link I have been thinking about things in a different direction too. So many new questions….

I’m glad to see that we have the same opinion of it. I hope the book has been translated to german, if not I will buy it nevertheless.

I think it’s worth spending some effort and to investigate on Mr. John Twelve Hawks. By the way, could the “Hurley Bird” be a hawk?

So please let’s stay in touch and let me know if you have some news :-)

Think I’ll get the book too………. Check this interview with ‘J12H’ He even mentions ‘Alias’ 100% connected http://www.sffworld.com/mul/146p0.html The answer to Q7 is particularly interesting……..characters coming to life.

Thanks! I really enjoyed to read the interview. J12H says.”I have never owned a television.”. Thus I have the impression he is suspicious about technology (Jacob hates technology). LOST is not mentioned at all during the interview and I think that’s done on purpose in order to cover the tracks.
