In the final episode through the Looking Glass Jack didnt actuelly have flashforwards as most people think but they were flashbacks as in all the other episodes and they were not Jacks flashabacks, at least not the Jack we have known for three seasons, to be more specific they were Jacobs flashbacks. In Jacobs flashbacks there are moments which proof that the plot isnt happening after the rescue of the survivers who we had watched for three seasons. for example: Jacks father is still alive and Oceanic Airlines is still operating even though they had ceased all their operations after the flight 815 tragedy, how is it possible that Jack flyies every friday with oceanic airlines.
All the survivers we know are on the island for a second (or possibly third, fourth or even fifth time - we know that jack has a 5 tatood on his shoulder which may indicate that all the losties have to go through the events on the island five times), in his flashbacks jack finds an article in a newspaper which brings his to somebodies funural, but there are is noone at the funural, then why was it in the newspaper? The person who died was a surviver of the oceanic 815 flight and the newspaper wrote about his death because many survivers had died after they were rescued from the island. Jack knows that it wasnt a smart choice to leave the island and he blames himself for all the deaths and wants to commit suicide by jumping of the bridge. He desperately wants to go back, tries to convince Kate to help him and eventuelly finds a way to go back in time to the island where he becomes Jacob. Jacob in hebrew means Jack and i dont believe it is a coincidence. I can not say how far into the past Jack went but Jacob has the black smoke monster under control, we know that there is a conection between the monster and the appearance of dead people on the island and we also know that young Ben saw his mother, ran into the jungle and met Richard. Jacob is using the Monster to alter the future (that is why Jack sees his father, Shannon sees walt, Eko talks to his brother .. etc.). Jacob hopes that by altering the future the survivers will not get off the island. When Ben and Locke go to see Jacob Ben says that Jacob does not like technology, well Jack must hate technology because it brought them off the island. Jacob is the reason why Ben joined the hostiles (even though I dont think Ben knows that Jacob made him see his mother) and communicated only with Ben because he knew that he would bring him Locke whom he can ask for help. I dont believe that the losties were rescued in the last episode, has anyone actuelly seen anybody being rescued. Jacob succeeds in keeping the survivers on the island.

I’m not a huge fan of the whole “back-in-time” theories, but I guess this is Lost and anything can happen. If it is a case of going back in time, I really hope that Jacob doesn’t turn out to be Jack…

Desmond travels to an event that has already happened in his lifetime.
I don’t see how Jack could possibly go back to the Island before they crashed and then waited years for the crash, and then co-exsist with his former self.

Perhaps Jack has the number “FOUR” tattooed on his should because it is one up from “FOUR”.
They say that the numbers of the Valenzetti equation had to be changed to avoid the world’s end. Well, maybe Jack will find a way to change the “FOUR” to a “FIVE” . . .

To Emzi: And why not, i dont see how Cooper could have been driving a road in Talahasee and suddenly appear on the island….
The key is that Cooper crashed, and remembers being taken to a hospital . . .

hooten: you’re forgetting that Juliettes husband was suddenly hit by a bus after Juliette had told Richard that that would be the only way she’d be able to do research with them.
Obviously that was a doing by The Others, so they obviously caused Lockes dad to have a car crash, then The Others brought him to the Island.
How can you say that Cooper was brought to the island by the others, Ben keeps telling Locke that he is the one responsible for Coopers appearence. I dont think that Ben really knows why Cooper is on the island. He talkes about the magic box because he doesnt know what really is going on. I believe that Jacob is behind all unexplainible things…….
In one of the episodes before Cooper got to the Island, Ben told The Others to “bring me the man from Tenesse”. That would be Cooper.
I don’t think Locke “brought” him to the Island. Perhaps Jacob told Ben about Lockes issues with his father? If Jacob can indeed communicate with Ben.
