If the scenes of jack with the beard that were shown as flashbacks in the last episode of season 3 were supposed to have happened after the losties leave the island why did jack say ‘if you think i’m drunk go upstairs to see how drunk my father is” (not the exact words)

As Jacks father died before the plane crashed on the island how could he possibly still be alive in this flashback or rather flashforward? there seems to be alot of people not staying dead recently: Lock, Mikael (the russian) or appearing to be dead or gone then not being: Walt, nikkie and pablo, Bens mother. Then of course theres the 3 that jack believed were dead because he heard the gunshots but weren’t (sayid, jin, bernard) and Charlie who was required to die for everyone’s rescue. Anyway i think what i am saying is that death is not a clear cut state on the island. Also makes me wonder if when the losties get off the island is the world they return to going to be the same or a warped version where people who are supposed to be dead are still alive and the survivors can’t find peace with themselves or fit into society.
